These Eagles Fans Want To Keep McNabb

Keep DMac Around!  G, as always– love your site. I'm not one to try to get on a website, but feel free to post this if necessary, because Eagle fans need to hear it. McNabb is (arguably) the best quarterback ever to play in the green & white (apologies to RC fans, but 5 is better).

We will be kicking ourselves if we let this guy get away from us. He is the one who can bring us to the promised land of a SB title. He's not going to thread a needle with his accuracy (we all know that) but he still has an amazing arm that can get the job done. Also, his other skills, drive and leadership (he still is a leader, not too many others put up with as much heat but have done so much) are assets to this team. Make no mistake—his knee is not back to 100%. Ask any ortho guy and he'll say it takes a MINIMUM of a year to get close to 100% from a surgery like this. 5 has no weapons (besides Westy), a coach who is a control freak and who cannot adjust, and ownership who is cheap. Give this guy time, and some weapons and we'll see where it goes. Ask the fans in Denver if after Elway's SECOND knee surgery if they should have gotten rid of him before the 1998 and 1999 seasons (btw-that's when they won the SB back-to-back). Impatient? Fine–give McNabb all of next season, along w/ a new coach and some offensive weapons to compliment Westbrook and let's see what this guy still has left in the tank– b/c it is my humble opinion, that he has a lot left and if we escort him out, he'll be another Philly team departure who ends up on the winning end of a championship while we're saying to ourselves, 'we never should have gotten rid of him'.

Place the blame for this 5-11 team on Reid, not 5.

Thanks G.

From Frank,

G- I am done.  I have been tortured by this team since i was 7 years old can I cant take it anymore.  I listen to the worst sports radio talk host in the history of radio, Coward Eskin ,( No I did not mispell his first name) who will sit there and blast anyone who tries to put this team failure on the coach and now read an article in the inquirer about how Lurie has full confidence in Andy Reid and has already took the heat off by saying he will not be fired.  This is inbearable becuase now I know we are heading into another few years of rebuilding and not being a good team and Andy Reid will be the one drafting and picking up the players. Everyone talks about how successfull he was but let me tell you this, with the talent we had on those team we should of won 2 Super Bowls.  I beleive we have won in spite of Andy Reid and I think he has wasted the first half of Donavans' career and now is in the process of wasting Brian Westbrooks career with this flawed, soft offensive scheme.  Not only that but player decisions have been terrible.  Cut Jermiah Trotter but keep Kearse and Darren Howard who sepnd most of their time in the secondary from gettign blown of the ball or on their backs from getting buried by a offensive tackle.  Or Sean Considne and Matt Mcoy.  These guys are not even second string players.  How nice would Rod Hood look now instead of William James.

We fans live and die with this team ( Mostly die these days) and this arrogant head coach wont give an answer on any tough questions and worse the media doesnt press him .  For the life of me I cant understand why this guy gets such a pass?  Just think the New York Yankees got rid of Joe Torre, a coach who actually won titles becuase he hasnt been successfully NOW!

Jeffrie Lurie and his empty suits have completely made me sick of football and this team. I want a Super Bowl and I have resigned to the fact that we will never see with this coach, owner and the stooges in the front office.  I have give every ounce of energy to this team every year for my whole life and I can do it anymore.

From Charles,
G, you know you are my man, and I'm a regular of your site.  Man stop it with the McNabb stuff.  I for one am not ready for the Bobby Hoying, oops, Kevin Kolb era to begin.  But, I'll admit you've been right on too many occasions now.  So stop it, I do not want D. Mac to leave anytime soon.  Can you imagine D. Mac with that young stud RB Peterson in Minnesota…scary.  You know the bad thing about this McNabb stuff, that guy works out harder, and represents himself and the city in such a positive manner.  The kind of guy that you let your daughter marry.  Thanks.
