Vick’s final snap versus the Giants, should be the last one taken as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. Whether the hamstring injury heals or not, Vick can no longer be part of the quarterback equation. Electing to start Vick again would be a “mistake,” unforgivable even by a rookie coach.
Why was the self-appointed leader not doing everything and anything to help the Eagles win when he was no longer able to do it on the football field? That was a big bench Vick was seated on, plenty of room for a coach or player to rest a moment and discuss adjustments needed on the football field. It was a disappointing site to witness as a fan, an embarrassing one with reference to the state of this franchise. Vick has been quite vocal during throughout his Eagles tenure; however Sunday his loudest and clearest message to date was spoken without even saying a word.
It is the “job” of the starting quarterback, the one he is paid to do, if you can’t physically play the role, assist with the mental, psychological and emotional part of the game. It’s the hardest position to play, and the man replacing Vick was forced into his “second” relief role as a rookie. You’re telling me that the Eagles coaching staff couldn’t direct Barkley to sit next to him. To discuss some of the things Vick was seeing from the defense, anything would have been better than not talking at all. I’m not a doctor, so maybe a hamstring injury causes one the inability to think and speak clearly.
Vick should not and can’t be the starter for the Philadelphia Eagles again this season. He demonstrated his true colors on Sunday. He was removed from the game, but he quit on his team.

This is not a good spot this week for the Eagles. I don’t know how many Eagle fans have seen Oaklands defense but there front 7 is very very good. They are physical and aggressive. It doesn’t matter who the Eagles QB is I think its going to be a long day for whomever. Chip better come up with a different game plan or they will get blown out. The Eagles defense is also due for a bad game and I can see Pryor gashing them with long runs. I just have a bad feeling.

Funny that you would bring up Cutler. If you compare he and Vick’s lifetime winning percentage it is almost identical (.550 to .552). And the have played about the same number of games. (Like 100 to 110). He and Vick are alike in a lot of ways.

There were many Philly media people questioning Vick’s leadership after his actions on Sunday. Some compared it to last year when Vick threw the whole team under the bus saying that they all quit on Andy.

I want Barbee to replace Herremans starting this week. Everyone believed that Herremans would be playing at a high level, even though he had never played right guard before. I had also hoped that he would be a positive, experienced influence on Johnson, but because of his consistently poor play this year, it has added to the rookies troubles in making the transition to the NFL. Barbee played well in the preseason and I would believe will play no worse than what Herremans has been giving the team. Shake something up on the OL, and Todd looks like the weak link.

D Jax is good, I like him more than most I think, but he’s not going to land a second round pick, nor is Peters. Try a third or fourth for Jackson and a fourth for Peters. He’s not the same Peters of three years ago, perhaps in name only!

While I agree with the final assessment of Vick…the fact that he didn’t choose to speak to Barkley as some sort of last straw is just offensive. Barkley is an ass, is essentially another Kevin Kolb and won’t be in the NFL two years from now. Barkley is the same guy that claimed he was in a 3 QB race for the starting job, when it’s been clear from the beginning that he didn’t have a snowball’s chance in Hell of beating a healthy Vick or Foles for the starting job. Barkley is the same guy that played poorly in pre-season games and then blamed his poor play on his 2nd and 3rd string teammates then when he stepped out on the field with the starters still looked stank like ass. Overconfident to a fault and generally person that I suspect most players won’t take seriously.
He also blamed his bad senior season on Lane Kiffin and withheld information about his injured shoulder he will be another entitled failed USC QB.
I disagree. although I think Vick days as an Eagle quarterback is over, and for just reasons, I dont feel like he quit on his team. I think the constant injuries just overwhelmed him.
