If the Eagles remained at pick #22, wide-receiver Marqise Lee is a name we could hear called on draft night. The former USC Trojan had some monster games against Chip Kelly when he was coaching at Oregon, and Chip has shown a fondness for Pac-12 players.
Lee’s overall skillset, body composition and college career is similar to that of current Eagle Jeremy Maclin. His size is good but not great, speed is nice but not explosive, and he is more known for making plays after the catch rather than creating plays as a matchup problem.
His game tape reminds me of Greg Jennings formally of the Green Bay Packers and now with the Minnesota Vikings. Lee could certainly help improve the Eagles receiving core, and his transition to the pro game would be easier than other receivers taken in the first round of the draft. His versatility, football I.Q. and willingness to block are all attributes that Kelly likes in a receiver.
Lee is not a big guy. He is 6’0 and 192 pounds. A lot of his upside would depend on how he was used on the field. He is not going to blow past defenders with the deep pass and he won’t win the jump ball. His best traits are making defenders miss once the football is in his possession. He takes good angles and demonstrates patience with allowing for downfield blocking.
The Eagles have had the top end speed receiver for the last six seasons, and if they really wanted to, they could get themselves that type of guy in the first round with Brandin Cooks. If the Eagles wanted that big, physical wide receiver, they could go in the direction of Benjamin. In between the elite speed and size is a guy like Lee.
Marqise Lee would be a selection that I would “understand” as our first round selection, this is a good spot for him and he fits an area of need for the Eagles. Odell Beckham Jr. from of LSU is another name that is projected around our first round selection. Lee and Beckham Jr. give me the “eh” I’d rather trade back or draft the best defensive player available.
There are other receivers that measure in around or slightly above 6’ and weigh 190 to 210 pounds that I would prefer to be drafted outside of the first round. These are players who I’m looking to take over the role that Jason Avant left behind in terms of receiving targets. Avant had above average hands, solid blocking and was fearless playing in the middle of the field. He also had “zero” upside after making the catch, something we must get from a receiver we elect to draft.
Round 3
Jared Abbrederis- Wisconsin 6’1” 195 pounds- Nothing flashy about his game, he brings his lunch pail to work each day and gets the job done.
Jarvis Landry WR- (LSU)- 6’ 205 pounds-strong hands and fearless, willing to put his body on the line to make the catch. Plays with an edge, physical and does well getting off the line of scrimmage when defenders try to jam.
Round 4
Josh Huff (Oregon)- 5’-11” 206 pounds- Jeff Maehl 2.0? No, this kid has bigger upside at the NFL level, and a different kind of make-up. Huff is the kind of player that understands where he needs to break his route short, and can be a reliable dump off for his quarterback when he is in trouble. Huff would do all of the things Avant did, but add the “YAC.” Needs to improve with the dropped passes; something that gets lost in the shuffle after breaking the receiving yards and touchdown record his senior year.
Kevin Norwood (Alabama) -6’2” 198 pounds- good character, smart, willing. His actual skill set is average, was not very productive at the college level but scouts think he has more to offer in the right situation.
Round 5
Mike Davis (Texas) -6’ 197 pounds- Plays a lot bigger then listed, and had a solid career with facing legitimate competition. Needs to work on his consistency with route running and overall focus throughout the game.
TJ Jones (Notre Dame)- 6’ 188 pounds- Has good overall makeup as a receiver and can help in the return game if called upon. Athletic for size and could afford adding some bulk to narrow frame at the professional level.
Round 6
Ryan Grant (Tulane) -6’ 199 pounds- Solid built with a good second gear once the ball is in his hands. Overall skill-set is still in the works.
Round 7/Undrafted
Austin Franklin- (New Mexico State) 5’11” 189 pounds- Plays with a chip on his shoulder, fights for the extra yards and has decent speed with good vision on the football field.
Matt Hazel – (Coastal Carolina) 6’1” 198 pounds- Hard worker who has played multiple assignments in the passing game. Needs to develop skill set; practice squad player.
About to go get a nice workout in and then I seen this it is what I have been preaching it’s nobody there @22 with that wow factor or game changer on offense outside of cooks and it’s nobody there on defense with that so howie best trade back. Lol everybody enjoy your weekend
I say Marqise Lee will be a bust as a Pro………..
Do tell why…..give us your evaluation, as the ONLY “expert” who thinks he will be a bust.
I personally don’t think he has the tools to be a #1 but I think he has the tools to be a good WR in the league. I want to hear your evaluation, and don’t pussy out by saying “bc I’m the head @#$%^ in charge”. Actually do what you claim you can do!
Still trolling huh E0S?……..Someday you’ll learn to stop wasting your time….
Even if I give you my full analysis – It won’t mean anything to you except fuel to your fire of denial, and further irrational criticism – so why bother?
If he turns out to be a bust, does it really matter????….all you need to know is that I was right….
predict away GMCliff, May 11, 2014 your list of 42 impact or GMCliff approved draft prospects gets consolidated down to 6. Oh and you still need a QB. You have zero claim to top 5 NFL GM Howie Roseman blue chip selection Nick Foles. You don’t like Howie’s draft pick, you say you can do better go find the eagles QB of the future like Howie did. Because right now your crappy selection choices have Mike Vick and his 100 million contract leading this team because you offered no draft pick suggestion capable to remove him.
Yawn………………..you bore me with your BS Logic….
I know you hear me when I tell you to enjoy yourself May 11th..
The only date to me that’s relevant is right now, and sense you can’t come up with anything on your own…..you have nothing for me, so shut up…..
You’re NOT TIRED OF SOUNDING LIKE AN ASS YET?????
GMCliff, will you be ranking the wide receiver prospects this year or do you just get viagra induced boners for Nigerian edge rushers like Ansah and Attaochu? Since their is a strong likelihood the Eagles select a wide receiver why doesn’t GMCliff rank the Wide Receivers 1 through 15 GMCliff approved impact to bust ( 1-15)
We here are still trying to understand the true meanings of your superlative grading choices ( Impact, Not all that, Bust). Could you use more non subjective grades like Todd McShay and Mel Kiper use instead in your rankings also. A more analytical numerical grade, please for the wide receiver list.
yawn……………
GMCliff someone has to make the all rookie team, are you telling me you can’t locate them some bodies at the wide receiver position?
We here are still trying to understand the true meanings of your superlative grading choices ( Impact, Not all that, Bust)…..
Who is “WE”??? Do you mean you, Wiggles, and _gmcliff…..LOL!!!
ALL THREE WITHIN YOU….CAN KISS MY ASS……….
What does my opinion mater to you…….
We want to see your players, and allow us – Myself, Paul, DCar, Biglion, Green fan, Jake, GloomuSmitty, Izzell Jenkins, Pheags, and Daggolden, sit back while we criticize, and grade you…..while you pretend you have a clue…..and hide behind Howie’s draft choices……LOL!!!!!!!
GMCliff I will not make a list of nonsense like you do.
If you come up with a sane list suggestion I would be inclined to participate.
Like rank the wide receivers (1-15) or
Like rank the top 25 NFL prospects or
May 14, 2014 Beat Howie Roseman —
Your list of nonsense is ridiculous.
Oh, and again Nick Foles was not Howie’s selection – He was Reid, and Morningwhig – Howie doesn’t know anything about drafting a QB. That’s how we got Matt Barkley…FYI genius….
May 11, 2014 —– 2nd Annual Beat Howie Roseman Challenge.
enjoy yourself…….LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
would you like to disassociate Howie from the title then, How about the Inaugural GMCliff vs Eagles0superbowl May 11, 2014 Draft Challenge?
Yawn……………..
sorry I couldn’t convince you to join today GMCliff, I accept your white flag of defeat, as usual.
SNORING.!!!!!!!!!!
C’mon Gmcliff, Let’s negotiate!
To be frank, Nick Foles was Paulman’s Draft Pick before any on here even heard of him (Including AR & MM), but that’s another story for another day… Lets focus on 2014 Drafat
that’s right Paul…..
Thank you for proving my point. You have no evaluation talent. I asked you to give your evaluation of 1 player and you have pussy footed around. So in truth all you have is an opinion like everyone else. You have a 50/50 chance of being right…..but then again if he catches 65 passes for 900 yds and 7 td’s you’ll still say he was a bust. You have given nothing as to why or what will make him a bust.
Be a man for once! I’ll share my opinion on you……you are a welfare collecting, food stamp using, trailer trash POS. I live less then 20 miles from you and know that Wilmington is nothing but a large ghetto.
For the last time you F’ING RETARD…..I am ME and ONLY ME. I have a job, unlike you, so I don’t have time to be making multiple accounts to post as different users.
Get a life loser!
Are you talking to me IJ?
So if that’s how you feel…..why waste my time to give you my evaluation????
You curse, and insult for what??? Your not taking anything away from me; Your not hurting my feelings,….so why are you wasting your time asking???….I DON’T HAVE TO PROVE ANYTHING TO YOU!! Who are you!!!….Not some one I give a darn about….
Who care where you live E0S, that doesn’t prove you aren’t Wiggles, or _gmcliff – which we all can see…..I technically live in Bear, in a development called the Woodlands at St Georges….a 5bd, 4bath Newly built home – but what does that have to do with evaluating talent???……
You obviously have another objective…..but you will NEVER accomplish that, because the GCobb family – minus your alter egos – have already witnessed the results – and there is nothing that you can do to change that…..
You will never make your point because – results are all that matter to me, and the rest on here…..
Results that you have yet to attain….Your all mouth…Step off me rookie…………
Your calling me a retard, but you were the one that signed on to Safety from Baylor, and then said in a response to someone else’s post that he sucked, and you weren’t impressed with him….I don’t know sounds like a pot calling the kettle black situation…….LOL!!!

WOW…..not a good draft at all! Only pick that is good is Colvin. Hageman is not that good. Not worthy of a 1st round pick. Has BUST written all over him. Robinson is to slow. Jones is to light in the ass. Dixon isn’t impressive. Thomas has the torn ACL, no idea how he will recover.
Robinson, and Thomas won’t be available where you picked them and to pick them earlier is a huge reach.

You also had Dixon on your mock as well – Now you contradict yourself – LOL!!!
But you’re correct he isn’t impressive……that’s one bust for you waiting to happen……I think you should stop while you have a chance to save face.

Ok dude, I understand you have a hard-on for EOS thats your thing so please stop sharing it with everyone we aren’t interested.
I believe the Eagles trade down or even out of the 1st round but if they stay at #22
1st round- Lee WR USC. Picks someone Chip knows. Not my choice but it is what I believe they will do.
2nd round-Attaochu OLB Ga Tech. Big upside/great pass rusher.
3rd round- **A Dixon Safety Baylor. Big and fast for a Safety*********
4th round-B Coleman WR Rutgers. Big WR to replace Cooper after next year.
5th round-T Hart DE/DT Oregon. Someone Chip knows and adds depth to a thin DL.
7th round-C Lyerla TE Oregon. Again someone Chip knows. If Chip doesn’t draft him no one will. Hopes to get a 1st round talent late and hopes he is maturing……
Don’t forget E0S, because, I’m gonna remember – You just pissed on yourself dumbass……Bwhahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have nothing for me….If you don’t like me fine. You don’t have to say anything to me….except…You were right again GMCliff!!!…LOL!!!!!!!!!!
Google these 3 prospects….
Larry Webster
Jeff Matthews
Jeff Janis
I bet you have seen every game they have played in so go ahead and give a your evaluation……oh wait you won’t bc you can’t.
When you can join the fraternity of TRUE scouts then let us know, till then keep Googling them and repeating what you read.
All you have to do is admit your living a dream…..the rest of the road to recovery will be easy then.
Oh btw….a Mock is WHO THE TEAM WOULD DRAFT, not what your opinion is. Anyone with common sense knows that.
E0S, you know I am aware of who they are……
Here is a test for you…..what positions do they play?
I guarantee you get at least 1 wrong….because of your lack of.
If you are a true scout….you would get them all right….
Your questioning me…lets see if you know…..
Larry Webster Jr…..6’6″ 252lbs DE Bloomsburg 6th round projection
Jeff Mathews…..6’4″ 223lbs QB Cornell FA projection
Jeff Janis….6’3″ 218lbs Saginaw Valley State which is memory serves me right Todd Herremans went to that school. 6th-7th round projection.
So now what?! Now your turn to show what you know. Tell me what you saw on their game film. Evaluate
Don’t waste our time typing up something you Googled. No way in hell you saw any of Webster’s or Janis’s games in person, let alone any film of them. I’ll give you the chance to evaluate Mathews bc you may have seen 1 of his games on tv.
Larry Webster, is not coming into the league as a DE……He has been working out, and been interviewed as a Tight End, and has been for sometime during the off-season – even at the Senior Bowl, although he was in for a few plays at DE……
Scouts, stay up to date, and I told you, that you would get at least one wrong…
Most are enamored with Larry Webster, just because of the name, and the genes associated with the name – so they assume that means diamond in the rough – That opinion was wrong
He was overmatched against stiffer competition playing at the Defensive End Position; He couldn’t get off blocks quick enough to display, or use his athleticism; and wasn’t strong enough at the point of attack against NFL Quality OT’s…..His inexperience playing at a lower level of competition showed, and worked against him leading to a low grade draft position – as a Tight End, he may not be drafted.
– But, he is an athlete, who has decent speed, and great athleticism, to develop into a nice Special Teams Player, and eventually perhaps earn good minutes as a TE once he builds up his strength, and his body…..
You didn’t know that because you just can’t Google that information, as you do, and feel you have insight that you think I don’t…………
Webster played against West Chester this year. And I have seen him play in person, as well at the Senior Bowl….
As I also did Janis, and Mathews…….I spoke about Mathews months before the College Football season was over…
BTW, you don’t direct me to do anything…Fuck you…Do you understand Wiggles…I mean E0S……I told you, I don’t have to prove anything – But I have already evaluated him..
Paul, and I both discussed Jeff Janis, before, and after his Senior Bowl Game…
You really don’t know what you’re talking about…….
Give me your evaluation of :
Brandon Denmark
Julien David
David Born
Cory Washington
Ethan Westbrooks
Howard Jones
Carlos Fields, and Jordan Love………
Have you heard of them??????…You are no challenge to me, and obviously have no Idea, how overmatched you are…..LOL!!!!
Want me to Google those scrub players like you did?
Webster is a DE, it has been mentioned that he might be athletic enough to play TE BUT no one is trying to convert him to TE.
Do you seriously think a FUCK YOU is going to make me shake, LMAO. You are such a bitch.
You didn’t go see Bloomsburg play and scout Webster…..the others on here MIGHT believe you but lets be REAL!
Ok, lets look at what you have posted since I have asked you to evaluate people over a week ago. YOU HAVE YET TO POST ONE EVALUATION…..HMMMMM FRAUD. You can keep acting like you don’t have to bc you’re the head bitch in charge but the FACTS are you know NOTHING about scouting.
Now do you want me to Google the scrubs you listed, like you do everyone you claim to scout?
I never said I went to scout him….I said, I saw him play in person – contrary to what you claimed….
He has been working out for teams for months as a TE – You can’t save face for not knowing…….It’s not like anybody is paying any attention to your negative claims about me anyway….
You asked me about those three players, assuming I wouldn’t be aware of who they are……I threw those names at you knowing, you have no idea who they are…….some of those so- called scrubs – may be superstars one day – but I wouldn’t expect you to see that….BWBAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, I meant not to make you shake – but to set you straight about trying to direct me to prove anything to you….
Our conversations are worthless…….The FACT is, the results speak for themselves 20+ Pro Bowlers, and there is nothing you can say, or do to change that………
I unlike you, don’t have to Google anyone….My research has been done for over a year now………You are overmatched…move on……….
Also, I never claimed to scout any of these players, but I have stated that I have seen them all play, and I can identify which ones are talented enough to make a significant impact in the NFL…..
I don’t want you to google, I don’t want you to do anything but KISS MY ASS, and bow down amateur…..
LOSER…..blah blah blah
As far as the Safety goes…..if you KNEW anything about predicting who a team would draft you have to know something about the team and football. I di not like the safety from Baylor BUT if you had noticed I didn’t Mock a Safety to the Eagles before that point. Safety is an area of need, so they need to draft one and at that point he was the best available. SO KEEP TALKING OUT YOUR ASS. He is a big and fast Safety but he seemed to get burnt deep a few times. So yes I did Mock him to the Eagles but I don’t like him. see thats the difference between a real evaluator and a fraud. You Mock who you have a hard-on for without knowing what the team needs.
I can make up where I live to. You said you lived in Wilmington now you live in Bear. They aren’t even close! Thats like me saying I live in Cherry Hill but said I lived in Pennsville. You are a fraud and liar!
So enjoy your fantasy world and you better start looking for a new site to troll on. This site isn’t going to be around much longer.
LOL!!!!……My life isn’t this site. The only person saying that is you.
I don’t care WHO the Eagles WOULD pick. I only mock who they should. But…..it is duly noted that you contradicted yourself…..and I wouldn’t mock anybody to them, that wasn’t any good…
You still didn’t answer my question….What does where I live have to do with my ability to identify talent???
I can tell you’re not that bright. You waste your time yelling at a computer trying to discredit a MAN, who has proven himself time and again – Why???….Perhaps because you don’t have life of fulfillment…..Maybe your situation is the same as, you describe for me – although you couldn’t be more wrong……
What are you trying to accomplish E0S????
When the GCobb Family reads your post…I guarantee you they view you as a complete asshole….That’s what you have accomplished….Congratulations….Good Night
You Mock who you have a hard-on for without knowing what the team needs…..
Everyone on here knows who I have mocked for months. There isn’t one prospect that I have identified, that doesn’t address an immediate need……..
Are you sure you’re an adult E0S??? You really don’t pay attention……
Oh…Good Night Wiggles…..I mean _gmcliff, …I mean E0S…..
LOSER…….
gmcliff all you have done all off season is give your opinion.
You are the idiot that keeps bringing up where you pretend live, so you tell me what it has to do with anything.
My one per peeve is LOSERS like you who think you know everything. You have proven time and time again you know nothing about football or the Philadelphia Eagles.
Good night and enjoy the rest of your pathetic life .
Loser????
Maybe you should go to bed…..your dreaming if you think you know me, and sleep on the FACT, that no one has come close to being more accurate about these prospects than me…….including you E0S, if you ever offered a list of prospects….Hhahahahahahaaaa!!!!!
Go to bed. your the loser, and everybody can see that. Give it a rest………
No. but you said you live in Camden, then came out & said you live in Ashburn. So who’s the fraud & the liar? Just saying! Stop trolling loser, & go away!
Oops, my bad!! That was Izzel, the other loser, know nothing, imbecilic troll! So we have E0S, posing as Iggles, & Jon Hart posing as Izzel. LOL!!!! This site is the best! What losers!!
Don’t forget the best one DCar – _gmcliff – He’s all three…
and has yet to make his point, or discredit me – Who else would be low enough to try such a thing Eagles0superbowls – aka – superass
You are the idiot that keeps bringing up where you pretend live, so you tell me what it has to do with anything….
No liar….You keep bringing it up…..stating that I’m poor, live in a bad part of Wilmington, and on welfare….LOL!!!….You are an idiot!!!
Just give up Wiggles – E0S……LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@$$clownery, at its finest! SMMFH!
Igglessb27, relax Clifford Dorsey knows you aren’t me and that is his orderly Caesar Gramenzi who sheds a tear for the dingbat. They both wrote articles here on GCobb last year. GMCliff is not stable and is down on his luck. Do not meet or give your number to this guy. DCar’s bark is louder but he does it for laughs.
Why are you talking to yourself E0S??????…….LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t think WR M Lee will be a bust at all, I also don’t think he is worthy of a 1st Round Pick.. I believe he will have a solid Career with decent Stats
To be honest, he reminds me a lot of Jeremy Maclin and is a good route runner, with good hands but believe his body will not be able to take the physical pounding of working the short, intermediate routes that he will be required
To do since he lacks elite speed.. I see Lee averaging 40 or so Receptions
a year with a couple of TD’s and 550-600 Receiving Yards ..
Basically a #2 or a #3 WR for most Clubs..
You know me Paul…We agree to disagree…:)
I’m gonna grit my teeth as I say this but he’s the most pro ready and if he stays healthy he’ll be a productive pro.
yeah ‘IF” he stays healthy is a problem statement for a guy who is just coming out of college. plus I hope the Eagles philosophy for drafting players goes a little beyond the player did well against Chip at Oregon…Oregon had some weak defenses!
I don’t see bust but I don’t think he will ever be a #1 wr and in my opinion u only draft wr’s in 1st rd if you think 2-3yrs from now they can be your #1 and he had #2-3 written all over him. And Paulman your wrong he doesn’t have Maclin like skills he has Reggie brown like.
Disagree completely about Comparison with Reggie Brown
Who was never a good & precise Route Runner with inconsistent hands
M Lee is the most NFL Ready WR and can run all the routes well,
His issue is a lack of speed to get separation and his build of 195lbs which will get him tagged across the middle & intermediates routes which he will be relegated to since he is not a legitimate deep threat
I just don’t see much upside with M Lee, he’ll come and produce right away,
But I believe his durability or lack there of will limit his long-term prospects
As a big time WR.. Which I similar how I feel about Maclin to be honest.
Also possible draft shocker eagles send Fletcher Cox to the New England Patriots for the #29th pick in the draft.
No way on that trade..
Fletcher is not the kind of down 3-4 DE that Belicheck likes, nor is he big enough to anchor the NT position where Belicheck prefers those big bodies in the middle and those long & athletic DE/OLB at the edge
Cox is neither..
I think Eagles best Trade Partner to move back is with the Cleveland Browns
Browns want Derek Carr or Bridgewater with their second 1st Rd Pick (#26)
I can See Eagles sending #22 to Browns for #26 and one of their 3rd Round Picks..
I believe Cardinals at #20 will take Derek Carr if he’s still there
Most likely leaving Bridgewater still on Board in which the Browns would want to move up to #22 since the Pacjers are at #21 and gave no need for a QB
But after the Eagles Spot at #22, come the Chiefs at #23 then Bengals at #24 that could be in play for a QB (especially Coach AR)
If Cardinals take a Position Player at #20 and Carr & Bridgewater are still on the Board, then Browns may sit at #26 and wait to Select one of them
but since the Browns have so many Picks, I feel they are the Best Team that wants the Eagles #22 Selection to ensure they get their QB of the Future
The pats ran a 4-3 last year and if you put cox next to wilfork with chandler jones on the end that would be a crazy dline also bb plays the best scheme that fits there players.
If BB felt that strongly about Fletcher Cox being able to adapt to his schemes,
Then the Patriots would have Drafted him..
Cox will not be traded, he’s coming into his final Year of his Rookie Deal
And gas played for 3 DL Coach’s and Coordinators for each of his Eagle Seasons, so let’s see what he can do in Year #2 with DC Davis and DL Coach Jerry A first before giving up on him,
Same goes with Vinny Curry.. These Players have been asked to do different things every season while with the Eagles
Maybe now with some stability with the a Defensive Coaching Staff,
These Players as well as all the others on Defense can make that next
step-up.. At least, this is what I’m hoping for..
getting a little tired of waiting on Cox…he tapped out with the rest of the D-line in that last drive against New Orleans last year…and I don’t wanna hear the bull shit about they were playing a certain way to account for Jimmy Graham! Sometimes you have to man up and make a damm play! Cox didn’t do it and they drove the ball right up the gut on us…get it right!
Defensive Line is our biggest need…but this draft is just not deep in the areas we need the most help
Unless someone is willing to blow you away with an offer…stay at 22 and take the best player on your board! Don’t worry about position…if it is even between a Defensive tackle and a safety…take the D-Tackle if it is even between a Dtackle and a QB…take the Defensive Tackle…but if you look at your board and the highest rated player on your board still left to be picked is Bridgewater…you have to take the shot…and grab him!
I would agree Biggie besides the QB Position
If Foles is your guy, and you’ve already signed back-up Sanchez for $4 Million and moved up in last years a Draft to Select Barkley, then what do you do with a Bridgewater or any other highly Drafted QB..
I do not believe that the QB Position is on the Draft Board no matter who drops in the early Rounds.. The Eagles will find out this Summer/Pre-Season to see if Barkley is a legitimate back-up to Foles, if he can’t beat out Sanchez (which I think he won’t) then Barkley is a goner after 2014
And then they will address a young QB to groom behind Foles in the 2015 Deaft somewhere, but not before then..they simply have too many other positions to upgrade with this Draft..
If Foles doesn’t play well this year, there is no way they will give him the big money going into free agency. You can’t reach…take the best player available and let the chips fall where they may
And if he does well, you’ll finally have the excuse to join the Jets and Skins sites like you want.
If Foles doesn’t play well in 2014
then Chip Kelly will go all in to Draft a QB come 2015
maybe a Marus Mariotta … Let’s see how 2014 Plays out with Foles as the Starter before worrying about the next QB of the Eagles, for they have many other Positions of Need to Updgrade..
Foles has them hostage in a sense. They have to earmark a ton of money next just in case he has a great year. If he doesn’t they are flush with money but now may have to mortgage a couple of drafts to trade up for Kellys guy barring a collapse this season.
Jay Cutlers deal was a tone setter. The 49ers are in the same situation. They will be getting rid of some key players on defense to fit that deal in and possible new deal for Crabtree.
Remember that Panthers Cam Newton’s Rookie Deal comes up after this Season as well… Newton and Kapernick’s Deal will set the Tone for the other young QB’s in the NFL (Wilson,Foles,Dalton & perhaps Tanneyhill)
Remember that 49ers let Safety Dontae Whitner, CB Carlos Rodgers go in Free-Angency, have an aging DE in Justin Smith, an aging Patrick Willis and an injured LB in Navarro BOwman as well as a big question mark with DE Aldon Smith..
The Big thing now
I think they are primed for a boom or bust year. If no SuperBowl and Harbaugh doesnt get the extension early in the season he bolts to another team or back to college.
I could see Harbaugh at Michigan (his Alma Mater)
If he wanted to go back to the College Ranks if contract deal doesn’t come thru with the 49ers..
They took chandler jones that draft he wasn’t a bad pick hear what u saying Paulman let him play in the scheme for more than one year but on same not they talking about him like he was warren sapp when he was coming out he is a pass rusher 4-3 dt not a run stuffer 3-4 de it was a mistake to switch to the 3-4 there gonna pay for it with him, cole, graham & curry wasted picks that’s two 1st rd picks a 2nd and 5th and some would argue Kendrick’s also. If they keep cox and he plays like he did this year his trade value goes way down maybe to nothing. It’s more risk than reward with keeping him if you keep him he might turn into a good run stopper but he will never be that pass rushing dt he brought in here to be. You can find a good run stuffing 3-4 de and where in the draft like him he is not Star Lotulelei, Mohammed Wilkinson, Sheldon Richardson & Haloti Ngata and he sure as hell isn’t jj watt.
Eagles messed up by not signing Chandlers brother
(Arthur Jones) this Free-Agency..
He is that big run stuffer who can play the 5-Technique DE in a base 3-4
Or slide inside as a NT or as a pass-Rushibg DT when 4 DL are used
And been an great addition to the Eagles young DL
I beliefs the Colts signed him.
I’m sitting here watching the eagles – Vikings game I’m still the 1st qt but so far I’ve watched cox one on one every play so far sometimes against a fb and he is doing nothing.
You can burn that Vikings Tape,
There wasn’t 1 Good Performance by an Eagle Defender
Or Special Teamer that Game.. Those continual “pooch kicks”
After every score were just killers.. Why the hell was Genuis Kelly
Thinking of and to stay with it all game was simply amateurish
And assanine and gave the game to the Vikings..
Completely agree with Paulman here, When I see Lee play Maclin was the first guy to come to mind. I wouldn’t mind Lee if we didn’t already have Maclin. My guy this whole time has been Odell Beckham.
Right now my picks at 22 go in this order of availability:
Pryor
Beckham
Mosley
Nix
Im not a fan of trading back a million times in this draft. There is no way I want our first pick to come at like 50 overall. Reality is if a team can get one stud and one solid starter in a draft with some potential depth back up guys then they had a great draft. I see mocks where you guys have like multiple 3rd and 4th round picks. Take a look at the players picked in those rounds for the past ten years..70% of those guys are out of the league in 3 years.
In usual years that might be the case but with this yrs draft they are saying you can get a player in the 3rd rd in a normal he might go 2nd or late 1st that’s why you would want to trade back cause this draft is deep they have a lot of holes and they are going to be getting rid of a lot of players next offseason
I won’t be mad if they trade back a few spots here or there. But some of you have them trading back a million times to have a hundred picks in rounds 2-5. Screw that give me the stud in the first round. We don’t have that luxury. And when you look at the success rate of players in those rounds its stupid.
And I bet a lot of guys mocked in the mid rounds on here go a lot higher than people thought. The mocks on the internet are so wrong after the actual draft occurs. I bet guys people want in the second like Fuller and Attaochu go in the first or very high in the second.
So far cox has 1 tackle I’m halfway thru the second qt and has one qb hurry lol he sucks in the 3-4. And he gets pushed back on run plays sad.
Put some really good players around Cox and I bet he blows up. People talk up Poe from the Chiefs yet they just forget the guy has two pass rushing monsters on each side of him in Hali/Houston who get double teamed attention on every play. He also has a very good secondary to play with that that can make the opposing Qb hold the ball much longer than our secondary can.
Im not giving up on Cox..give the guy some serious pass rushers on the sides to draw attention away first
WR is also one of the hardest positions to hit on in all of the draft. Outside QB, Its probably biggest bust potential in the high rounds. Thats because location is so key for a WR success. Unlike other positions, a WR production is dependent on the QB talent (unless you are just a freak like Gordan/Fitz/Calvin)…
The biggest reason why there are so many busts at the WR position is because usually the team picking them in the high rounds don’t have a QB. If guys like Jordy Nelson, D.Thomas, Julio Jones were drafted by Raiders they would be nowhere near as good.
It will be interesting to see where some of these guys go.
Take a player like Benjamin. If he goes to the Saints or Pats he will likely be great. If he goes to the Rams or Jets he will likely bust.
Paulman that’s why I’m watching it of he was a difference maker maybe they win that game almost done the first half so far curry gets a lot of push and Logan also Trent cole played a lot of there run plays great. Cox must go cox must go lol
Also whole watching this game Cary Williams is the worst cb in the league.
Your missing the point 88 even those players go in the 1st that means other players are gonna drop even if it’s linemen they need players at wr,OG,dline, olb, ilb, cb, and safety so if some players go in the 1st that was supposed to 2nd that means other players are gonna drop.
**Paulman Eagles Draft (Version #15)

Mel Kiper & Todd McShay will grade this Draft Class a “C”
I like Trevor Reilly….no thanks on the others!
Thnx EHL..
I think WR Landry & Safety Lewis could shine in Eagles System right away.
Landry in the Slot & as a 3rd Down Weapom and Isiah Lewis at Strong Safety by Mid-Season & Special Teams ..
The others will need a year of adjusting and be back-ups to upgrade the Talent Level & Depth
***New Paulman Rumor***

I probably should have prefaced my rumor that I am attending the Spring “2014 High Country Moonshine Harvest” and can barely see straight, but that’s another story for another time..
Lol…say goodbye to more brain cells Pman.
I hear that it is a “teeth-optional” event….the Moonshine Harvest that is!!
Your head will be hurting tomorrow!! Drink up!
Hell GreenFan, it’s Hurting right Now… 🙂
I can tell you right now Paulman why they won’t take Reilly he is 26years old and Landry is to slow built for the slot chip wants guys that can play inside as well as outside how about they just trade down and we leave it at that.
Chip & Rosey like how Reilly Plays and Coach Kelly’s Contract runs thru 2017 (As will Reilly’s) then they both ride off into the Sunset…
Lol
I am not a Marquise Lee fan. I do not want the Birds to draft this player. I want a larger receiver who will not have trouble getting off the line with press coverage. Kelly seems to have a thing for PAC-10 players, but hopefully he does not think that Lee is the player for our 1st round pick.
I agree Green
Kelly will be looking looking for either for a Big Target
Or a Speedster, Marquise is neither..
I actually have Lee dropping into the 2nd Round to the Jaguars,Titans or even down to the Giants
It is just unbelievable that we have to sit up here and talk about what WR may drop, if we may trade back or may trade up and hope the WR is any good. Its un-f%^king believable. This Djax thing has set this draft board upside down. There is no secret report coming out, no more articles coming out, the only thing is he was a little hard to get along with. Now we are stuck here hoping we get a good WR and wasting a pick. Unbelievable.
Yawn. Dumping winy assed “elite” players often for the benefit of the team.
From SI.com
Boston Bruins part with elite players to become NHL’s best team
As I was watching the Boston Bruins methodically dispose of the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday afternoon to clinch the Presidents’ Trophy for the league’s best record, a thought came to mind: This is a team that, over the past four years, has dealt away two young players who went on to become superstars with their new clubs…and the Bruins are somehow better for it.
And then a second thought: Peter Chiarelli is the most fearless, and possibly the best, general manager in hockey.
It was Chiarelli who determined that Phil Kessel, the fifth overall pick in the 2006 draft and a 36-goal scorer in just his third NHL season, didn’t fit with his vision for the team. And so he dealt the 21-year-old to Toronto for a handful of magic beans, one of which he turned into Tyler Seguin.
Seguin came in and helped the Bruins win a Cup in 2011, but it wasn’t long before he also proved to be an ill-fitting piece. Whether it was immaturity off the ice, his style on it or simply an exploding contract that didn’t fit well under the contracting cap, he was deemed expendable and shipped to Dallas for veteran Loui Eriksson and another handful of prospects.
Both Kessel and Seguin scored a career-high 37 goals this season, tied for fifth overall in the league. Kessel stands sixth in the overall scoring race with 80 points, tops on the Leafs and an new personal best. Seguin was arguably the breakthrough player of the year, his 84 points trailing just Sidney Crosby and Ryan Getzlaf.
Both have established themselves as impact players whose absence would severely cripple their new teams…and yet the Bruins didn’t simply survive their loss. They actually got better.
Focusing on the only points that matter — the two up for grabs every night — Chiarelli built a team that relies on depth and a shared identity rather than a predominant superstar. The wisdom of that approach is evident. That Stanley Cup in 2011. An appearance in the Final last year. And now, Boston’s first Presidents’ Trophy since the 1989-1990 season. That year, the Bruins lost to Mark Messier and the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final, and there’s a very good chance they’ll fall short of their ultimate goal again. There are no guarantees once you get into the tournament.
But what is guaranteed is this: Thanks to the bold machinations of Chiarelli, the Bruins are as well situated as any team to capture the Cup. Not just this year, but next year and the year after and the year after that one, too.
Plenty of teams talk about establishing a new culture. That’s exactly what Chiarelli did soon after being hired in 2006. He created a Culture of We. Everybody ropes, everybody rides and no one is bigger or more important than the spoked B on the front of the sweater.
And that is why the Bruins are the best team in hockey.
For every one Boston Bruins I can give you 25 Oakland A, New York Yankee, Dallas Cowboy, Detroit Piston, Boston Red Sox, San Fransico 49er teams full of high priced assholes, selfish me first assholes best talented teams who have won titles. So while I understand your point it’s not a winning formula and you know it.
Baseball.
Basketball?
Of course it doesn’t matter in baseball, and modern NBA is just set a high screen and let your superstar travel through a triple team, so neither of those count.
Again, there may have been assholes on the Cowboys or Yankees, but there weren’t guys who quit on the team. (On the field)
Kellel didn’t play D…he was not responsible on the ice. Seguin was up till 4:00am nights before playoff games effecting his play on the ice. Bub-bye.
Desean gave up on plays. Couldn’t block the smallest CB on the opposing team and was a non-factor in the red-zone. (Oh, and he was an asshole who chewed out his coaches and QB on the air – nice move dork). Bub-bye.
End of story.
Eagles will be a better team for it.
Facts. Eagles must waste a high pick on a WR. Facts Eagles must pray the pick isnt a Freddy Mitchell or Jeremy Maclin bust. Facts Eagles now cant take the best defensive player on the board because they need a WR. Facts Now instead of adding a defensive player to the worst pass defense in the NFL now they have to backtrack to hopefully find WR help. Facts We made a division rival stronger for nothing. So now we may have to pass on a Anyhony Barr and pick up a Benjamin. So we are right back at square one. Unbelievable.
Fact, The Eagles do not have to Spend their 1st Pick on WR
Fact, WR J Maclin is not a Bust, he’s about to enter his 5th Season the NFL and hopefully is 100%, he’s not or never was a #1 WR,
But a 60-70 Reception & 1000 Yard Season is very realistic in Kelly’s Offense..
Paulman your correct. It would be ground breaking that my 1st round WR in his 5th NFL season could get me 60-70 catches and 1000 yards in his 5th year. Maybe just maybe if Barney Rubble can somehow out scheme everyone else he can help Maclin reach that historical goal. Because lord knows that elusive 1000 yard season is a bitch to obtain. What a great pick.
*** Eagles to Aanoubce a few more Personnel
Moves cone Monday afternoon
1) Sign Released QB T Pryor from Raiders

4) Trade DE Brandon Graham to 49ers for their 4th Round Pick
(#134th)
5) Trade RB Bryce Brown to Titans for their 5th Rd Pick (#154th)
Eagles now have the Following Draft Selections
1st (#4) OLB Khalil Mack (Buffalo)
1st (#22) Guard Xavier Su’a’-Filo (UCLA)
2nd (#54) DE Kareem Martin (UNC)
3rd (#70) DT DaQuan Jones (Penn State)

4th (#126) WR Robert Herron (Wyoming)
4th (#132) TE Crockett Gilmore (Colorado St)

7th (#237) WR Cody Hoffman (BYU)
Sanchez wins Starting QB Job in Summer with Pryor learning and waiting in the
Wings… Fly Eagles Fly..
I don’t know if I would be mad if this happened
Eagles become a ground & pound Offense with 3 Headed monster with McCoy,Polk & Sproles and run the ball 40-45 Times a Game
It’s the only way they can compete with the big boys in the NFC over the next
2-3 Seasons.. Forget this Passing 35-40 Times a game
Run,Run,Run and beat Teams Down is they way to go
Its hard to comprehend changing styles when the Eagles set franchise records on offense. Common sense told me with the prolific offense Barney Rubble had last year it would only be better moving forward. I guess it wasnt good enough.
It’s still up-tempo Dag just with more Running Plays and Short Passing Plays and if it’s open down the field, then take a shot once in a while
But having 3-4 Play Drives that 2 minutes off the clock, with this Eagle Defense is not going to
Beat the good Teams, where they have to slug it out for 60 Minutes
Versus the Seahawks,49ers,Packers,Saint, Cardinals & Panthers..
Basically the result is do you want an exciting Offense
To watch or do you want to watch a Team that Wins the Big Games versus the best Teams..
Eagles should have plenty of firepower to score enough points to win games but they gave to upgrade their Defense big time if they want a legitimate shot of a Super Bowl anytime soon..
And though their Defense Played better down the stretch as far as Points Allowed, there is no way they can compete until they add 2-3 Playmakers on Defense..
Time will tell, but that’s how I would build the Team,
Plenty of SB Teams have won recently without a True #1 WR and all those gaudy stats at WR..
(Seahawks,Ravens,Steelers Giants all won SB’s
With average WR Corps)
Paulman the only thing I see wrong with your draft is they wouldn’t need Kareem Martin after getting Mack cause the eagles would try to convert him to an olb you could take your wr there like a Cody latimer or they could just take Sammy Watkins there @4 and then take the best defensive player @22.
Kareem Martin is 6-6″-275lbs and will be DE
Then slide inside as a pass-rushing DT in 2 years Time
Martin played both DE & DT at UNC.
Can be the next Peppers,Coupkes or JPP but he plays with his hand on the ground and is not a stand-up OLB like Mack is??
Next off Season it’s bye to Cole, and maybe Curry and who knows with Thirnton who if he has big season will definitely test Free-Agency and probably be gone too (this after Graham is gone this year too so Eagles DL will be very thin most likely for 2015)
Need young Defensive Talent from this Draft Gloomy
If HC Kelly is the Offensive Genuis he and everyone thinks he is,
The Eagle Offense should Score enough Points with
McCoy,Sproles, Celek,Ertz,Cooper & Maclin and whatever WR
They Draft, but they still have to stop some Teams .
Adding Mack & Martin to a Front 7 with Kendrick’s, Barwin,
Cox & Logan is a big time Upgrade
LOGAN BLOWS……….
It’s not a bad ideal but I don’t think they are getting rid of foles plus we won’t win with Sanchez as the qb Pryor would have to be the guy.
I know Gloomy.. Just throwing it out there..
Foles is the QB for 2014 and Future for Kelly..
If I hear “Pryor” one more time I am going to puke!!
Fast pace run oriented O. One play every 18 secs. Short passing O (pass every 1.5 secs).
Short passes sprung for big gains by heavy downfield blocking by WRs and TEs.
This is what Kelly wants.
This is why the Birds will draft another OL and TE or big WR early in May.
Once he has the O he wants he’ll think about the D.
I don’t like QB Pryor either Vinnie,
Mark Sanchez is the QB and will Win “Comeback Player of the Year”
Under Kelly’s System .. Pryor will have a couple of Wildcat Packages
Just to keep Defenses and Opponents on their toes and have to game plan
for.. Could be a brilliant move by Kelly..
Well well well, guess who just said Desean was a great friend and teammate? None other than Nick Foles, who never saw Desean’s release coming, so now the pro bowl QB, the pro bowl RB and the leader of the team last year all coming out in support of Desean? So I wonder where these anonymous were coming from? Guess he wasn’t such a bad guy after all he was just making too much money. Let’s see how this gets spun.
LOL
LOL
Did you really interpret that from what Foles said??????
Wow.
I think there are a lot of remedial reading course available at your local community centre. Come back when you’ve taken one.
Here in the states it’s center and like Nick Foles said the NFL is a business things like this happen, which is what I’ve been saying since Desean was released so I guess your crush took the same course. But of course it doesn’t fit with the selfish locker room cancer bad guy so yea spin away.
What did u expect foles to say I hate him and his attitude I’m glad he is gone he is selfish and only cares about himself. No foles is a company man you don’t air dirty Landry out in the public u keep it in house.
Is Shady a company man as well?
So the unnamed sources are bad teammates who air dirty laundry? And they are not company men? Go figure.
If shady would’ve said anything bad everybody would’ve known it was fake because they are close friends.
So no matter who comes out in support of DeSean thetes a built in excuse to justify them doing so. Excuses excuses. Initially, it was no one has come out in support….now it’s this that and the third. Gloomy…didn’t you say no one gives a fuck about Djax….yet , I find you commenting on him again and again.
You are right I just tired of hearing about it’s over with he is gone get over it.
Eagles fans who want answers aren’t going to let it go that easy. Best believe reporters are going to ask about it during camp starting tomorrow. You are not a Djax fan and that’s fine…but don’t expect others to feel the same way. If the organization makes a move you don’t like…especially if it involves a player you like you would want answers…hell you’ve said Roseman should be shot for making certain moves!
EHL I’ve said this from the beginning and of course I was labeled an apologist, I keep saying the locker room would take notice and not in a good way, players will see that they don’t matter in the long run. It’s just a business and your career can hinge on the whim of the head coach.
Your not an apologist no more than those saying it are company lemmings. It’s just an opinion from your perspective. One that I happen to agree with by the way.
Lol any player that doesn’t think that the sport they play isn’t a business and their career can be over in a snap is an idiot. You are trying to impart the views of fans…the same fans that will say “we pay your salary” and most players could care less.
You win it works you lose it doesn’t. Stop with all the psychic reading nonsense. It’s so damn simple its stupid. The Eagles resigned 4 players this year to big contracts outside of an ok deal for Riley. They are the verge of resigning a bunch more the following offseason. Money talks bullshit walks. Anyone with common sense knows either your with the new regime or you arent. If you arent good or bad look for a new place to ply your trade or shut your mouth keep your head down until new management comes along.
Lmao what the hell do you think players are going to say about other players? No player is going to rip another player in public because it opens them up to ridicule. Because if Nick Foles rips DeSean if he throws 2 picks in the Skins game and DeSean scores 2 TdS the same usual clowns will be running their mouths in here RIPPING him. On WIP ripping. On the cover of newspapers getting ripped.
Stop the nonsense.
So the morale of the locker room meant something when Desean was perceived to be a bad guy but now it’s nonsense? Hmmm okay Izell what happened to the everybody needs be all in? Or what happened to none of Desean’s teammates speaking on his behalf? This is following this team until the season starts and beyond.
Lol because you are a fool if you think a teammate is going to go on record and talk bad about another player.
This only following the team if they lose or before Redskins games. Its that simple. If they start 4-0 no one cares. No one on the team is gonna care. That damn simple.
A team mate came out against Chris Johnson calling him selfish and not a team first guy and he put his name on it!
Are you talking about that twitter nonsense? Lol his teammate said he wasnt talking about him.
Stop it now.
Delanie Walker backpedaled like a straight bitch after that tweet…and Cj called him out on it.
It was about CJ…yes…please..stop it!
Wrong. Don’t make shit up.
Bottom line if you feel that strong about somebody being a cancer in your locker room man up and put your name on it.
Thats all fine and dandy in a perfect world full of rainbows and unicorns…but in pro sports…NOT HAPPENING.
And when Shady basically droolled all over Howie and Chip in the same article he gave props to DJax those with an agenda made a million excuses on why he did it.
Lmao come on now.
Shady knows he’s up for contract talks next year…he’s no fool. He’s not happy about the release….that’s clear….seriously stop playing!LOL
Don’t backpedal now lol
Delanie Walker
Just know me and @chrisjohnsontwo8 is on the same page!!!!!!
Lol lose all credibility making shit up.
LOL…use that backpedal garbage elsewhere with someone else…nor do I have to make shit up for you…lol. I stand by what I said, always have and will. He was talking about CJ…bitched out though. LOL…that’s his problem…everybody knows he was talking about CJ and two to three others. Deal with it!
Except that he said otherwise lmao but you know because you were there hahahaha
And you only proved my point that no one wants to go on record to say anything. Proved my point emphatically.
Yes, there just as you were….funny, you believe what DW says when he bitches out…but you question those who come out in support of Djax because it doesn’t fit into your mold or beliefs. Pick and choos on bruh…flip floppin all day long. He still came out and blastedteam mates…everyone knows it was him so it’s not anonymous, regardless of who he was talking about…CJ and the others. He put his name and face to it, so how am I proving your point…lol!
And please…all that brother in lawing with the oh yeah…we’re on the same page…GTFOH…CJ isn’t someone DW wants to f@#$ with, that’s why he back pedaled. Damn…read between the lines. Even when people come straight out and say something, when it doesn’t support your beliefs or opinions you just blow it off as “oh well they’re not gonna come out negative”….just stop it already. Either accept the players words as truthful or don’t. Stop picking and choosing and flip flopping to support your nonsense.
And as I said…I’ll hit you up during the draft about those selections…what are you gonna do though if a WR is taken in the first 2 picks? Man up!
Lmao but when the players support the organization its “read between the lines”…NEGRO PLEASE. Stop your nonsense.
Your example was off a player who wouldnt even come out and name names lmao then got called out on it and backpedaled like a bitch.
Please show me some more examples…gtfoh that with that bullshit.
Lmao…Man up. Dumbass I was beating the drum for Mike Evans when DeSean Jackson WAS ON THE TEAM.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I will be happy as hell if they get Mike Evans.
LOL….what are we 10 years old in the playground with the name calling. I think we should be able to have a dialogue, and disagree without stooping to such levels. I know you’ve been beating the drum for M.E….I don’t keep you in my thoughts like that as I post though. No need for all caps and name calling though….lets not get mad and frustrated. We just see things differently bruh…let’s keep it civil though.
Lol mos def. I got mad respect for that last post! We can agree to disagree anytime.
I understand why people are fustrated with the DJax move. Me personally I thought Djax was a dynamic playmaker. However Ive been done with him for quite sometime and before this year he was a boom or bust player. So what annoys me is the overhyping all pro greatest Eagles wr of all time nonsense like we traded away Jerry Rice.
That’s wussup! Draft night will be interesting. I do like M.E. I just don’t see how the Eagles could get up high enough for him. My first selections overall in the first round is Anthony Barr, Calvin Pryor, then M.E.
As much as you and I know they need defensive help this team has severe holes in that defense that can’t be fixed through this draft. So if they can add a monster on the outside like Mike Evans I will lose my mind lol.
Im on record that they should trade up for Anthony Barr. Outside of Dix no other safety is gonna make an impact on this team with this sorry ass pass rush. It would be a waste of a pick.
I do think they will get there hands on Dion Jordan.
Give me Barr, CJ Mosely, im not sold on Pryor at 22 because I dont see that big of difference between DBuch or Jimmy Ward and Pryor and I think you can get one of them in the 2nd round.
My thing with Djax is just that I remember the Torrance Small, Charles Johnsons and James Thrash and Freddie Mitchell and all the other drek receivers that has rolled on through, to me Djax was just what I waited for. He has his flaws but I was ok with them as I remeber the inept receivers of the past. I hated to see him go because I wanted to see he, Maclin, Sproles and Shady together with Foles, plus I wanted the focus of draft to be on defense. I just feel an unnecessary hole was created this year. I knew he wasn’t going to be around in 2015 though so I wouldn’t have been upset…the unexpected hit me though!
If they get Dion Jordan then….I think he will be a great fit in the Billy Davis scheme….I’d move up for Barr too. IJ….trust me on this one, Pryor is the truth. I’m a big Deone Bucannon fan too so I’m fine with either. I like Christian Jones also.
Prior reminds me of Laron Landry. I just think the difference between Dix and Pryor is much bigger than the difference than Pryor and Buchanon/Ward.
Chip wants two monsters on the outside. Run the rock, screen game, TE play.
He gave up a dynamic playmaker in DJax. It better work or its the first cement boot around his foot.
They already made their statement. They released him. They don’t need to say anything else beyond that. Business 101. You never bring more attention to an unpopular decision by continuing to speak on it.
Unbelievable some of you think we deserve a press conference and 10 paragraph detailed spec sheet. Lol.
Only in Philadelphia IJ…
Do you think the Jets papers & media still talk about Santonio Holmes,
Or Denver Press talking about Champ Baily or even the Cowgirl Medua about DeMarcus Ware.. Time to move on..
And as far what other players say or think means little in the Sports World
These guys are the best of the best and are highly played which generated big Salaries for themselves, the Team and the Owners & Leauge when they Win.. It’s the nature of Today’s Athletics in General..
Here today whether they are loved or loathed, and gone tomorrow..
It is what it is..
The only thing about the guys you mentioned Paul is that those guys are past their prime and didn’t have the best year of their career in 2013…that’s the major difference
Santonio Holmes is about 28-29 and not much older than D-Jax?
If you didn’t win anything with them, then why keep them now as all
Organizations look to move forward, and especially when new Coach’s come on Board, they make changes, it’s what happens..
That logic can apply to many players on the team.
Paul….Santonio Holmes is 30 years of age
2013….11 games…23 rec…456 yards
2012 4 games 20 rec….272 yards……not even close. He doesn’t belong in the same breath as Jackson…as I said, past their prime.
It’s common sense. Whatever you believe so be it. MEANS NOTHING. It will come down to wins/losses in the regular season. Thats how the decision will and should be judged.
Same people on here crying will bitch about something new if the offense picks up where they left off. Their agenda is blatantly obvious.
Outside of McCoy no player on this team deserved to be here long term.
How about Long-Snapper – Jon Donebros.. Good Grief..
Robert Woods had a decent season playing in Buffalo from USC as a 2nd round draft pick last year and many thought Marquis Lee was the better wide receiver when they were team mates. Keenan Allen, Cordarrelle Patterson, DeAndre Hopkins, Aaron Dobson, Kenny Stills, Terrence Williams they all played well last year. You can throw a dart at the board for this years wide receivers and they would duplicate the stats last years group provided.
To IJ,
I disagree about the Pryor and LeRon Landry comparison
Safety Pryor has much better Ball Skills and Hands than LeRon Landy ever did coming out of College. There is this misnomer about Pryor simply being nothing more than a head-head hunter which is not the case.. Pryor can play well in Pass-Coverages and make plays on the ball and has very good hands to make Int’s..
I liken Pryor’s skill-set at Safety similar to a Antrolle Rolle/Adrian Wilson type who both have the combination of Physical Play, but still Athletic enough to make plays on Receivers/Ball in Pass Coverages
I don’t see it Paul…I see him better ball skill wise than Laron Landry but still see him more as an in the box safety.
Pryor can play in th box, but is more athletic than what I believe many have given him credit for …
Safety’s like Ahmad Dixon, Isiah Lewis are strictly in the Box Types like LaRon Landry is…
Calvin Pryor can play both Free & Strong Safety in my opinion, though he will initially play the Strong Position early on..
