Eagles Had Better Not Lose To Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are quite a football team.  There leading receiver Chris Chambers was traded away in the middle of the season.  Their starting quarterback is out for the year and he was playing so badly, that it's probably a good thing.

They are winless, so you know the Eagles, Andy Reid, Donovan McNabb and the rest of the team will have move out of town if they lose.  The Eagles aren't so good that they can afford to play poorly and be guaranteed that they will win.  Of course, a loss would kill what little playoff hopes the Birds have left.

The only way the Eagles could lose this game is through turnovers.  If they come out and give Miami some easy scores, they could find themselves in danger of being the first team to lose to the Dolphins this year.

Left tackle William Thomas will have the toughest job on the Eagles offense.  He's got to block last year's NFL Defensive Player of the Year Jason Taylor.  I'm glad Winston Justice will be on the sidelines.  Taylor has only five sacks this year, but he still has the capability of taking over a game. They've got to have ways to give Thomas help if he has trouble with the speed rushing defensive end.

Jerry Porter is also lining up for the Dolphins.  He's not what he used to be but he's probably still running his mouth and making an occasional play or two.  The Miami defense isn't that bad.  They're tough to run against and do a decent job defending the pass.   McNabb has got to safe with his throws, while making sure to get the ball out of his hands and not take any chances giving up an easy score because that's the ony way the Dolphins could win.

Dolphins quarterback Cleo Lemon isn't very good.  Starting quarterback Trent Green wasn't playing well when he was sidelined for the season with another cuncussion, but Lemon is playing ever worse. His receivers aren 't very good and I mentioned before Chris Chambers was traded for a draft pick.  His offensive line does a good job blocking for the run.  Halfback Jesse Chatman is big and physical as a runner. He had a great game against Buffalo, running for nearly for 130 yards. The Dolphins will test the Eagles run defense by pounding the ball consistently against them.
