The Eagles have only themselves to blame after suffering yet another loss to an NFC opponent with a winning record.
The Cowboys took advantage of some of the Eagles’ most critical flaws on their way to a 38-27 win over the Birds.
Most notably, Dallas took advantage of how turnover-prone and sloppy this team is, and how wretched the cornerback tandem of Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher can be.
Dallas forced the Eagles into five turnovers (four official, I count the opening kickoff as a turnover as well). Little mistakes like miscommunications and general lack of focus have led the Eagles to a great many of their turnovers this year, and this game was no exception. The game began with a special teams mishap when Brad Smith and Josh Huff couldn’t decide whose responsibility the opening kickoff was.
Later in the game, Brent Celek was unable to follow through and hold on to the ball all the way through his reception, leading to the back-breaking turnover that ultimately cost the Eagles their last chance to come from behind.
In the secondary, Bradley Fletcher and Cary Williams looked helpless and pitiful throughout the night. Fletcher was constantly abused by Dez Bryant, and just had no chance against the talented receiver who torched the former Ram for over 100 yards and three touchdowns. Williams meanwhile committed three terrible penalties that extended several Dallas drives, including one pass interference on a third and 19 that set up Dallas at midfield.
Chip Kelly’s offense puts a high priority on running plays at a high speed, but when the players don’t execute things in a crisp fashion, that style of play comes back to bite you. In the first quarter, the Eagles went three and out in the blink of an eye on their first two drives, putting their tired defense back out on the field.
Sanchez Awful Again
Each week, Mark Sanchez becomes more and more exposed. For a guy who has played in multiple AFC Championship games for the New York Jets, this is just not a guy that can come through in big moments and pick a team up when they need it most. Sanchez killed this team by missing multiple wide open throws to several receivers that could have extended drives, and finished with just 252 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Throw out a long reception of 72-yards by Jeremy Maclin, and Sanchez and the passing game would have given the Eagles next to nothing in the most critical game of the season.
Even though Nick Foles has made terrible decisions throughout the season, at least the young quarterback showed the ability to will the team back and put together big drives in big moments throughout the year.
Quick Thoughts
Offense
- Jordan Matthews failed to catch a pass, and also dropped a pass from Sanchez that would have at least set the Eagles up with a first and goal. Instead, the drive stalled and the team had to settle for three.
- Chip Kelly has finally figured out that the key for redzone success isn’t to get cute, just do the conventional thing and hand to ball to your most powerful back and send him straight forward. Chris Polk turned both of his goalline carries into touchdowns.
- Josh Huff looked great on a reception in the second half. Huff caught a short pass from Sanchez and was able to break away from defenders for a 44-yard gain. Huff has some tremendous raw ability, but he’s got to develop his football IQ and stop turning the ball over.
- Disappointing that Darren Sproles continues to be such a limited factor on offense. He did score a touchdown, but touched the ball just five times and caught just two balls for eight yards. Earlier in the year Sproles was such a gamebreaker for this team in the passing game, and its so baffling that the team has seemingly forgotten about the impact that he can make when given the chance.
- Riley Cooper is awful. Cooper dropped what should have been a first down reception early in the game when the team was struggling to get going.
- LeSean McCoy managed just 64 yards on 16 carries.
Defense
- Connor Barwin continues to have a great year, picking up nine tackles and another sack, giving him 14.5 for the year.
- The Eagles defensive line was pretty strong against DeMarco Murray and the running game for the second time this year.
- Brandon Graham dropped Murray for losses several times behind the line of scrimmage.
- Ditto for Fletcher Cox.
- Malcolm Jenkins led the team with seven solo stops.
- Jason Witten burned the team for seven catches and 69 yards, and was a great secondary target for Romo throughout the night.
Final Thoughts
This was such a disaster.
The Eagles’ playoff hopes are suddenly on life support as we head into the final two weeks of the season. The Birds need to regroup and find a way to win their final two games while hoping that the Indianapolis Colts are able to summon up a strong effort to take down Dallas next week.
If the Eagles get in, its going to be through the division. They’re not going to catch either of the wild card teams, as they’ve managed to lose the head-to-head meetings with nearly all of their competition for those final slots.
The club has struggled all year to take down quality opponents, and its what could ultimately be their undoing.
You have to put a lot of the blame for this situation on the coaching staff. These turnovers and mental lapses have cost this team all year, and we’re now through 15 weeks and it has yet to be addressed or corrected in any noticeable way.
Its great that Chip Kelly and company can blow out the Panthers, Redskins, and Titans of the NFL, but if you keep coming up small against the quality teams in the league, you’re going to be sitting and watching the games from home come January.
Eagles lead the NFL with 36 Turnovers
In 14 Games..
They also are 2-5 in 2014 Versus Teams with a Winning Record
If you can’t Beat Winning Teams, or at least Split with them, then you don’t Deserve To make the Post-Season.. It really is this Simple and the underline Story of this 2014 Season..
Riley Cooper won’t be back next year. The Eagles could use 1 more stud WR to complete the rotation with Maclin (assuming he re-signs) Matthews, and Huff. I really like Huff’s potential, but the dude is hurting this team with bone headed plays. Cary Williams is a fucking jerk off. That dude needs to be gone next year. I have no idea WTF Howie saw in this guy (what a ring Howie?) such a joke. He and Fletcher have to go next year plain and simple. Draft or sign a free agent stud LB to complement Kendricks. Get a new secondary and keep only Jenkins. Oh, and WTF was Chris Christie doing celebrating in Jerry Jones luxury box?? What a douche bag!! I can see if the guy was from Dallas, but he is from Jersey, born in Newark. Lots of Eagles fans live in Jersey. Classy move you fat fuck!!!!
Sorry Dman
Cooper, if on the roster next year counts 4.8 mill against the cap. If cut, he costs 6.2 million.
They’re not going to take that “dead $$” hit. 2016 his cap number drops to 2.4 and they” be able to cut him then. But we’ll all be watching Cooper running around on the field next year.
Hopefully we will be watching Cooper run around on special teams. If they do not upgrade for a true #2 receiver it will be flat out negligence. Fact is Chip fucked up on how he handled the wr position last off season, now they have to either waste more resources in the draft or free agency to strengthen that position. They can not come back with Cooper pretending to be a #2 receiver. He is a joke!
Spot on usual Denny. I’m disappointed we didn’t get a Eagles/Cowboys preview from you this week.
Thank you! I’ve had a lot going on lately, so unfortunately I’ve fallen behind a bit on my keeping a steady flow of content week to week, but I’ll pick things up soon again.
“Even though Nick Foles has made terrible decisions throughout the season, at least the young quarterback showed the ability to will the team back and put together big drives in big moments throughout the year.”
When he did that?
You do realize that Sanchez leads Foles in every statistical cat except int%. That Foles was leading the league in turnovers when he went out and put up a goose egg with San Fran and couldn’t mount anything resembling a comeback against Arizona.
Come on now. Sanchez is no peach, but Foles ain’t nothing to write home about either.
When did he do that? Have you been watching the Jags all season? That was the big issue earlier in the season, how this team would fall behind only to rally and come back in the end. Indy, Washington, Cards and 49’s (both losses that ended with a big drive at the end of the game), even the Jags game they had to come back.
I know that you may not like Foles, but to say that he wasn’t able to bring this team back in games is just flat out false.
He came from behind against AZ and SF to take the lead very late in the game and the defense didn’t hold up. The bomb TD Carson Palmer had on 3rd and long was inexcusable. Sanchez is terrible. I admit Foles was not playing well while he started but the upside on Foles is so much bigger than Sanchez.
Come on Ts.
Week 1, Foles shakes off a terrible first half to help the team comeback against the Jaguars, with touchdown passes to Ertz/Maclin.
Week 2, Foles takes the team down to field goal range to set up Parkey for the game winning kick against the Colts.
Week 3, Foles is on point for almost the entire games to help overcome Washington in a shootout.
Week 4, Foles and the entire offense play a terrible game against San Fran, but Foles helps pull it together and drives the team down to the goalline, and had Riley Cooper held on to a ball thrown his way, we could have been 4-0.
Against Arizona, Foles takes the team on the drive to get the lead in the final moments, and Nate Allen and the defense cough it up.
Look, there’s no doubt that Foles ‘ play has left a lot to be desired this year. Turnovers have been flat out unacceptable, and he’s cost them several times throughout the year when he was starting.
But there’s something to be said for a guy that can play really poorly at times, but still show an ability to perform well in clutch moments, and the last minute drives against the Colts, 49ers, and Cardinals reflect that.
You look at Sanchez’s body of work, what the heck has he done to make you feel good? Two biggest games of the year against Seattle and Dallas, and he flat out sucked. How many open receivers did the guy miss by a mile? When the rest of the team plays great against the poor teams of the world like the Panthers/Titans/Texans, you can get away with Sanchez in there but the guy folded like a lawn chair against the Seahawks and Cowboys in the two biggest games of the year.
At the end of the day, Foles hasn’t proven that he’s a quality starter in this league. But good lord, I’ll take him over Sanchez any day.
And by the way, one thing that a lot of people overlook is that he’s still a very young player. Young quarterbacks are going to go through growing pains, and you’ve got to be patient while they try to work and adjust as the league adjusts to them. I feel like a lot of people look at Foles as though he’s a guy who has been in the league for five-six years and already hit a ceiling. Its his third year in the league, and it was to be his first full year as the starter. While his play certainly is enough to create some doubt about what his future might be, its way too soon to write him off. That’s why his injury was such a blow to this team. They needed to see more and find out how he performed during this stretch against Dallas/Seattle/Dallas. Instead, we don’t learn anything more while he’s on the sidelines.
Sanchez lost to Seattle, Greenbay and Dallas.
Not a single one of those teams was Foles going to win. You’re being REAL generous with your interpretation of Foles play. Everything you complain about with Sanchez applies to Foles.
Once again, Foles does not lead Sanchez in any statistical measure other than int% – that’s it. Nada. There is nothing redeeming about Foles play. He’s just as mediocre and capable of beating bad/mediocre teams as Sanchez.
The only difference is he makes losing to good teams a hell of a lot more interesting. Or you miss that goose egg he put up against San Fran or his godawful outing against the Boys last year. Come on.
Too many people just don’t like Sanchez and that’s fine. But isn’t any better, and in fact is worse in some key statistical categories.
TS, it’s not always about stats.
Well it was about stats when folk wanted to tout 27/2 and all of that.
Now it’a not about stats?
Well two stats it is about:
– A goose egg against San Francisco
– Leading the league in turnovers.
Those are some stats for you.
Ok. More stats. 5-2 versus 3-3. Hopefully that 3-3 will change to a 5-3 and with a little help get us in the playoffs, but also consider that Foles is like 14-5 in his games as a starter, if stats are what you are concerned with I think that winning percentage is a pretty important one.
“The only difference is he makes losing to good teams a hell of a lot more interesting”
You realize that your statement right there makes it sound like you think we have a better chance against good teams with Foles than with Sanchez right? Contradicting your own argument a bit there, but alright haha.
And your interpretation of his play is extremely dismissive, to say the least. Do you really only see the bad in his game, or do you just look the other way entirely when he does something right?
And why would pick out last year’s Dallas game as a point of reference? You point to the guy’s second start of the year, a game in which he was concussed, right before he took a 3-5 team to 10-6, which concluded with a win in Dallas over those same Cowboys?
Look, again I’m not telling you he’s our future. There’s no doubt that at times he’s really killed the team this year, and certainly done enough to create some very legitimate questions about what the Eagles might do at the quarterback position in the future. But he’s a young qb, not a seasoned veteran, that’s barely had a full season’s worth of starts under his belt and has had a number of really nice moments that you might or might not be able to work with down the line. I don’t know if he pans or not, but I want to see him play, that’s all.
“You realize that your statement right there makes it sound like you think we have a better chance against good teams with Foles than with Sanchez right? Contradicting your own argument a bit there, but alright haha. ”
I was talking about Sanchez. Not Foles.
So no not contradicting my statement – didn’t specify the pronoun accurately.
Nice try though.
thank you denny. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!
ts foles couldve beat dallas and seattle easily.
we were right in that seattle game until late 3rd early 4th, sanchez went 10-20 for under 100 yards. im fairly certain foles wouldve done better than that. foles likely wouldnt have played like such shit in the 4th against them either.
and in the dallas game who knows, but dallas aint that good foles couldve won us that game. against dallas in got out of hand in the 1st quarter and besides josh huff and our d, our offense had 2 3 and outs and didnt help our d. 1st quarter sanchez went 1-2, 0 yards and a 9 yard sack. pretty sure foles wouldve made at least one play on that drive and at minimum let our d get a breather.
“ts foles couldve beat dallas and seattle easily. ”
Yeah…’cause he beat San Fran and Arizona…oh wait…
He was gonna beat Greenbay too?
Oh and Foles has looked GREAT against Dallas in the past…oh wait…
shame on me for trying to have a rational conversation with you
Why are games where Nick Foles is horrible and then goes on last minute drives that fall short shown as his ability to come back? The 49ers game is an example of how he comes back? What nonsense are you spewing? We had the lead almost the entire game! With no offensive points! We lost the lead cuz the offense was pathetic! How is that game an example of coming back? Yet Sanchez getting the team back the lead in the Cowboys game is not an example of not coming back from earlier adversity?
Somehow Foles losing two games where the opponent scored 24(49ers, Cardinals) is an example of how Foles would have won games where the opponent scored 53, 24, and 38? He was given excellent defensive and STs performances and lost, yet he would have won when the defense and special teams imploded? He would have won against the Seahwaks when could produce NO POINTS against the 49ers? Do you people use reason and logic when it comes to Foles, or just perpetually delusional? With Nick Foles, up is down and down is up.
See…we are on the same page.
I’m confused on all these amazing performances of Foles. He LED THE LEAGUE IN TURNOVERS before he went out.
A GOOSE EGG against San Fran.
Couldn’t mount SHIT against Arizona in the end. And he was going to “easily” beat the best defense in the league and beat a team he has looked historically piss poor against when they scored 38 points on us?
I mean…in what bizzaro land is all his bad traits good and all Snachez’s exact same traits horrible? It’s not even something you have to argue about…the proof is in the pudding.
ZERO POINTS AGAINST SAN FRANCISCO. ZERO!!!!!
How many TDs Sanchez score against the Hawks? Oh okay.
What a surprise…Skayne and TS are on the same page everyone….news alert, the dimwits are in agreement….go tell Marcus and Michael that they are back !!
What’s up Ts, I would take Foles for one reason only. He can at least make all the throws an Nfl quarterback needs to make. Sanchez arm is weak.
Why are you suddenly showing up know? You were nowhere to be found when the team was winning, and now you suddenly show up to throw more shit? Go fuck yourself Skayne, you still can’t handle that your boy rush MV lost his job to this Nepoleon Dynamite lookalike that you want to try and bash him every chance you get. You are not a fan of this team, you are a hater who found the opportunity to throw more shit on the wall because the team is down…..Foles hasn’t played in 6 weeks but you and TS act like he is responsible for these last 2 losses….go back under your rock and play with your MV action figure.
Hey greefan, I’d stick my foot up your ass if we met in person, so your personal attack against when me I have nothing to say to you and you can’t debate anything I said in the post is typical of you attacking people who don’t think Foles is good.
You’re a fucktard who was accusing me and Realtalk of personal insults against your family until someone had to point out to your retarded ass that it was someone else? Where is the apology for your baseless accusations that you said was forthcoming? Do you have no integrity or
honor as well being a complete moron?
All you can do is launch ad-hominem attacks and talk about MV when debating Sanchez and Foles? You bring him up all the time cuz you’re too stupid to debate anything without using strawmen arguments.
The apology was after Irish corrected me. Go back and find it. It is there. It was Theone and Koolbreeze that conducted the attack. I apologized to you and RT.
It doesn’t change the fact that you only show up after the Birds have lost some games.
I only show once in a while cuz I don’t feel like getting into endless debates everyday with people who who favor Foles for things he does but criticize other qbs for doing.
Too call the 49ers game an example of how he comes back when it was a case of a blown lead due to no contribution on offense is an example of how everything is twisted to fit the narrative that he is a good qb. Debating this kind of thinking everyday isn’t something I’m gonna do. People believe what they want, and I’ve learned that consistent logic and reasoning don’t apply.
Don’t know how an apology that isn’t a reply to my posts counts.
It was at the bottom of that string and addressed to both you and RT. If you don’t undrestand how that counts so be it.
Foles ceiling is so much higher vs Sanchez..he has played just 21 games total in the chip Kelly era..has he distinguished himself as a franchise qb ..? No he hasn’t ,but ,there are so many other holes to adress ,that need be priorotized..obviously the two corners and safety are abhorrent …the worst part of them is there ,attitudes …they actually have the balls to complain about being too tired …as I’ve stated before ,nobody’s more tired than us the fanbase..cooper can’t catch a cold ,and the organizational decision to evaluate him and reward him will be costly .Its even more telling ,knowing they bungled an in house evaluation? How are we to trust them on there evaluations ,if they don’t even know what they have ? Ron Jaworski on missenellis radi show spoke of foles vs sanchez and was being kind ,saying sanchez body of work is what it is ..where he said he liked foles and found many of his footwork issues were directly linked to a shaky line and lack of run production..I trust jaws more than Kool and TS …I also found the Dawkins comments even more telling ..discussing the safety help that wasn’t apparent vs dezz…bill Davis was shown the door here in AZ …his unit ranks at the very bottom in the league ..nobody ,expects things to change ..what will the giants do to this group ? Expose them for the fraudulent entity they are …when a coach is defiant to make changes ,he usually starts listening to the fan base ..and then sooner than later he’s sitting with them..I’m totally pissed that we let Dallas come here and take our lunch money ..it’s beyond football ..it’s personal ..the chip honeymoon is over …times yours..
Foles ceiling isn’t high. You’ve seen his ceiling and you’ve seen his floor. He is who he is and ultimately that’s not good enough.
One of the best QB seasons in the history of the NFL is not a high ceiling? A trip to the pro bowl and the second highest QB rating in the league history is not a high ceiling?
I’m happy to overlook 7 sub-par games behind a makeshift offensive line, and strict instructions from the coach not to take sacks. Especially when he won 5 of those games.
I had the exact same thoughts when I read that Irish….doesn’t have a high ceiling…..what??
How do you know what his ceiling was after not even playing a full season and only being in the league for 3 years? If we make that assumption so quick then guys like Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, etc should would have been let go quickly too early in their careers.
Honestly TS…it takes an NFL player 3-5 years to develop into the pkayer they will ultimately be. The quarterback position is the toughest to learn and judge. Aaron Rodgers sat and practiced behind Favre fir 3 years before taking the reigns. Troy Aikman played like pure garbage his first year…showed promise his second and the rest is history. It takes time and experience. It is simply to early to say we know if this guy is or is not the guy. If we are to judge Foles ‘ ceiling it would be 27-2. His floor would be what he has done this year prior to injury…which you are correct is nowhere good enough. The true Foles maybe somewhere in between. However…we simply do not know. His body of work is to limited and on polar opposites right now. Foles has played a year and a half…that is nowhere near enough time to indicate the type of QB he is going to be.
Exactly how I see it EHL. Well stated as usual.
Thank you greenfan
Spot on desert.
All good desert. You correctly state that the honeymoon is over, and Chip will need to look in the mirror and see that his fingerprints are all over this season. I believe that the guy is a good coach, and has a plan in how he wants his team run, but along with the culture aspect you also need to have athletes that can play. The culture club as you like to say desert, is important, but you must have talent or all of the character types in the world will not help. It was talked about all last offseason that our defensive backfield needed an upgrade…..nothing of significance other than Jenkins who has strong leadership qualities but was only a marginal upgrade talent wise…..the CB’s are unchanged from the previous year…this division has some very strong recievers in Bryant, Beckhem, Garçon, Jackson….without CB’s that can cover we can look for mediocre results every year.
With respect to TS’s comments on the QB’s, Sanchez is a veteran backup. The fact that Foles injury was as serious as it was only exposed Sanchez as solely backup material. He can keep you close in a few games, but not against the better teams. Foles has come back to earth after his strong season last year, but while no one should expect another 27-2 season out of him, I believe that when healthy next year and with a healthy OL we should see an improvement in his play. It will be the last year of his rookie contract and it is his last chance. If there is a possibility to get a good QB in the draft the Birds should make the move, as we have seen, it is important to have quality QB’s on the team the way that injuries happen in the NFL.
Now TS we are to believe you and the Kool idiot ,know more about upside potential then an ex nfl qb in Jaworski who studies tape …it’s moronic to make that assessment ,especially knowing there were offensive line woes ,and chips propensity to throw more in 8 played foles games vs all 13 last year …this isn’t even a debate ..I just read howies transcript from his radio show ..addressing the weak ass corners ..he actually used the boy George culture club references…I could care less about classy individuals …and culture ..we already let one pro bowler out the door ,and received jack …we now are evaluating our guys based upon there character …i recall we let warren sapp slide based upon just that ..what the f is going on here ?
I listened to his show and heard him say the culture…blah blah blah..I hope culture helps Bradley Fletcher stop Dez Bryant…nope. It is fine to not want distractions…headaches.and ass holes on your team. However , the talent pool is slim enough, now we are concerning ourselves about culture and cultural fit. That is why I asked if they would draft Marcus Peters..best cb in draft that was kicked off Washington Huskies? Being a coach is also being able to manage varied personality. A lockercroom can not be a monolith. Fletcher and Riley fits the culture…but what are they doing to help you win on the field? Nothing…they are hurting us!
TS …how many deep balls did your boy throw since his first attempted floater to maclin? I’ll give you a clue ..it’s equal to your football I.Q. ..it’s equal to the amount of eagle rings ..nick foles was criticized for his deep ball accuracy …at least deep ball is in the same sentence as his name ..you’re a complete fool..
How many deep passes did Foles chuck into double coverage and get picked off? How many wide open receivers did he miss? Fumbles? Coverage sacks?
Green I’m with you bro…I just can’t get this bad taste out of my mouth ..losing to the x man dezz …who is a culture casualty ..I’d rather have a bad ass in an nfl fight than 11 choir boys..this is our team ,and we are organizationally a flop..we have first rounders that can not sniff the field ..we have ducks that can’t swim in the deep end of the pool.
Irish well stated
It’s a nonsense argument to even compare Sanchez to Foles.
Foles does more in the offense period from a passing perspective. The jury is still out on his long term potential Neither side for or against can claim victory on that thought.
Sanchez is a limited QB who is given a safe gameplan that suits his strengths and with the no.1 thought process when using him is not to lose games. As soon as the game is put into his hands his career arc comes to play hes a 50/50 avg. QB.
Move on….the conversation is nonsense. Comparing a QB who doesnt even ATTEMPT to throw the ball downfield to one who from a passing perspective is given the full passing playbook is again NONSENSE.
What’s really ridiculous is your totally lack of football acumen..
Your an idiot!
The reason why Sanchez hasn’t chucked the ball down field is because of how defenses have been playing this offense. It has nothing to do with the ‘full passing playbook’ and more to do with 1) good defenses catching up with Chip Kelly’s offense 2) The terrible regression of Riley Cooper who gives you absolutely nothing as a starting receiver 3) Teams are playing zone coverages against the Eagles..with an emphasis of keeping everything in front of them, gap discipline against Shady..you dont do like Foles and just chuck up a bunch of wounded ducks to Riley Cooper, a rookie receiver and Maclin…you have to run the ball better than they have and take what the defense gives. 4) The Eagles terribly miss Djax. It doesn’t show up in games against the Giants or Jacksonville, or the Deadskins….but it sure showed up against solid defenses like San Francisco, Arizona, and Seattle!
Djax is an exceptional weapon that created a lot of space for the Eagles passing game…Maclin does not have that same impact (as good as he as been) and Riley Cooper is a complete waste!
The Eagles receivers are not that good!
It is a nonsensical argument…Foles benefited greatly from the defense and special teams scoring a bunch of touchdowns-under Sanchez the defense and special teams have given up huge scores.
The bottom line is that neither Sanchez nor Foles are franchise QB’s …But the Eagles have a whole lot of other weaknesses. And while Sanchez is an upgrade over Foles-his completeion percentage is better, he has played better against tougher competition….it is obvious that neither QB are franchise players that the Eagles can build their future around!
.
The hope with Sanchez and the many who supported him because frankly they just wanted to show how much mobility means in this offense fell flat. He ran one read option that I can remember. The Goal line TD in Dallas.
Which again makes the comparison from Sanchez to Foles NONSENSE. Sanchez didnt even use his supposed strengths much in the offense.
Foles is the better play. Always has been. The question is if he is a short term or long term solution.
Do you go all out at other positions of need on the team and with the idea he can be Joe Flacco.
If not….its musical QB chairs until we find a QB.
Funny IJ, that his ( Sanchez) mobility had been something that we hoped to see, but the more he played the less he looked to use his legs. Along with not running the ball with the read option, he did not do much of any sprint outs to move the pocket. He throws the ball well when on the run, but more and more over the past few games he was strictly throwing from the pocket and handing the ball off. Maybe it was the defensive scheme that was limiting the roll outs, but I was hoping to see more of this becuase I believe he throws better when on the run.
“Foles is the better play. Always has been. The question is if he is a short term or long term solution.”
That’s called wishful thinking.
Not a single thing he’s done this year backs that up.
Neither QB is the answer. But the continued hope that somehow Foles is – and giving him passes on ish the board would kill other QBs for – never ceases to amaze me.
He leads the league in turnovers but he’s the better player.
He can’t score any offensive points when gifted 21 but he’s the better player.
He can’t read zone coverages – but he’s the better player.
He throws ducks and into double coverage but he’s the better player.
Lacks any sort of functional mobility, but he’s the better player.
Okay.
Lol the same wishful thinking you had behind Sanchez that lead you to make the statement that he can make all the NFL throws?
If you think he cant read zone coverages…lol don’t ever talk about Kap/Cam/Rg3 as able to do the same…if thats the case Foles look like Brady in comparison.
Especially when those QBs have been doing it longer than he has. So why even contemplate bringing them in.
On top of that…show me one thing that Sanchez did this year that proved he was anything other than Sanchez?
And who cares about the board…..
The board is you Vinnie and Kool polar opposites agendas and those who stupidly support either.
Even the people who disagree the most on here knew Sanchez was a joke and Foles is not the franchise.
Move on.
Toasty…shut da hell up…the only one with an agenda is you and the lame ass Foles crew. I have been clear on the issue…I never said Sanchez was a franchise QB….he is an upgrade over Foles.
You fools are always making foolish assessments that wont allow a few facts to get in the way. Foles has stunk since training camp where Sanchez by all observers played better. Foles was spotted 7 touchdowns from special teams and the defense-despite the injuries to the offensive line…he was the least sacked QB in the league!
Yet he still managed to lead the league in turnovers!
How does a team with an offensive ‘genius’ like Chip Kelly fail to score a single offensive point in a game?
When you have a Quarterback that stinks those results are not surprising!
Yet you and other fools are all over Sanchez as if Foles can ride in a save the day…
Bullshit!
Against Dallas, Sanchez scored 27 points and brought the team back from a 21 point deficit. When has Foles ever done that against a winning team? Would Foles been the difference in the Green Bay game…where the defense was scorched for 53 points?
Would Foles pick apart the Seattle defense?
Fuck no!
Stop with the foolish argument that Foles is so much better than Sanchez…his arm is so much stronger
Bullshit!
What we have learned from this year is that we dont have a franchise QB-Foles/Sanchez/Barkley combo does not work!
Anything else is agenda driven bullshit!
KoolMoron this sentence alone only adds to the multiple asinine statements that have fallen out of your mouth lmao.
Against Dallas, Sanchez scored 27 points and brought the team back from a 21 point deficit. When has Foles ever done that against a winning team?
If you think Sanchez brought us back 27 lmao…YOU ARE AN IDIOT.
Didnt KoolMoron say Sanchez threw the ball in tight windows and the Redzone problems were gone….
Arent you the same moron that said Foles only put up stats against bad teams….
Then creamed himself getting his point across when Sanchez made plays against the Carolina Panthers….a bad team
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I told you about showing your teeth you fool as clown.
Have you even watched Sanchez play in the past 3 weeks?
Sanchez has been exposed. He is a veteran backup QB. He will have a job in the league, but will not challenge for a starting job unless injuries are involved. Foles next year will be on the final year of his rookie contract. He will be back and will be the stariting QB for the Birds, but it is also likely that Kelly will bring in or draft a stronger backup to compete. Kelly wants to have more than one QB option due to injuries, and Barkley has not shown that he has the coaches confidence.
Its not wishful thinking. Its just making sense of the reality at hand. Chips prototype QB is not available. He plays on the Seahawks or will cost to much to trade for.
So its the same in either direction. If we trade for an athlete that will open up the read option(Kap/Cam/Rg3) its going to be at the sacrifice of the passing game. If we go with a pure passer its at the sacrifice of the zone read effectiveness.
So we are where we are now.
Stats don’t always tell the whole story..but ..in this case..to answer your inquiry TS foles threw for 59 attempts over 20 yds or more in almost 8 games..completed 19 For 9tds…sanchez in 6 games 26 attempts 9 completions 1 td…and now can we please stop becoming the Boone zoo chimp throwing contest and realize it is what it is .Stop with the comparisons ,you are just making false and empty arguments ..riding sanchez is all we got ..sit on tight ..mr 50/50 and checkdown Charlie is attempting to take us to the promise land…
We are held hostage by the QB position. We all know the needs of our defense etc….IMO without a franchise QB than you have to make the defense dominant.
Ravens with Flacco.
This will make Chip spit out his coffee. Here’s a clip from an article in the The Dallas Morning News:
Fletcher was continuously asked to man-cover Bryant by his coaching staff in a example of a very poor tactical idea.
The Eagles coaching staff had done this continually throughout the season, asking their secondary to not only stop the opponent, but to stop in while in base coverage against 11-personnel. On the Cowboys very next drive – again before the Eagles even had a 1st Down, the Cowboys faced a 2nd and 10 and ran out Cole Beasley in the slot with Bryant and Williams out wide. The Eagles, despite being barbecued with this very tactic at Lambeau Field a month ago and then by Seattle last week, where they put a safety on the slot man and decide to roll with a single-high safety to cover the entire center field, walked right into the furnace yet again by offering Dez Bryant the same silly treatment that they tried with Jordy Nelson.
The results were the same. The Quarterback cannot believe his eyes, tries to not be too obvious in pre-snap, looks the safety away to create the gap, and then lofts a pass into the path of his man with Fletcher trailing by a healthy margin. It seriously looks no more laborious than a warm-up drill and given that this has happened repeatedly to the Eagles, you wonder about the stubbornness of their coaching staff to continue to employ a tactic they are incapable of carrying out. It really makes you wonder what they must think of their 3rd corner, Brandon Boykin to have him on the sideline and ask their safety, Malcolm Jenkins, to run with a slot rather than just play nickel like most teams would if they continuously demonstrated that they can’t stop with 4.
Please dont keep reminding us Irish.
Good find Irish. All true. Davis claimed to understand that he had a poor gameplay in Green Bay, but as was shown in the article, he did it again against Seattle and then the Cowboys. I think he also did it and got away with it in the first Cowboys game but Romo was semi-injured and did not recognize what we were giving him. This defense will work against the weaker teams, but teams with good QB’s and recievers will do this week in and week out.
I think the Giants put up 30 Pt’s + versus this Eagles Defense
Beckham with a Monster Game..
I think Eagles finish 1-1 these last 2 Games and fall to 10-6 for the Season..
Would Bo Pelini make a Good NFL Coordinator…
Hate to say that article encapsulates everything I think about how they deploy
the defense. Too bad it didn’t come from a Philly paper.
The ultimate problem is that they overreacted to the Saints playoff game, and its hurt their thinking since. In that game we got hurt in nickel defense when the Saints turned to the run after a first half where we defended them well. In reality we just didn’t adjust to them switching to the run in the second half. We stayed in a pass defense mindset when they started running the ball. That game is why they’ve chosen this path to defense even though it is suicide against good qbs with elite receivers.
When Billy Davis said after the GB game that their first priority was to stop Lacy, and not Aaron Rodgers, I was dumbfounded. Dude hasn’t thrown an int at home in two years and Lacy is who you’re worried about?
Buffalo on Sunday defended Rodgers how you have to. They sold out to stop the pass. Safeties back, and the d-line in complete pass rush mode. Defending that way leaves you vulnerable to the run. GB adjusted and started running the ball cuz Rodgers was completely neutralized. Lacy started gashing the Bills. So in turn the Bills adjusted once the Packers went to the run and keyed on that. They gave up some rushing yards but completely shut down Rodgers, which was the main goal.
The inability of Davis to understand what his personal can and can’t do, and to understand who it is most important to stop on the opposing team is maddening. Playing defense means that to stop one thing you are vulnerable to the other. So when you’re in the game and the other team adjusts to your strategy, you have to re-adjust to them. It’s move, countermove. Not staying with something when it’s not working.
IrishEagle, Its fucked up that I have to agree with you on something…but this clip is some damming evidence of the Eagles getting outcoached! Maybe putting Fletcher one on one with Dez Bryant after seeing him get toasted by Jordy Nelson was a bad idea. Where are the adjustments? Where were the blitzes that Washington used to pressure Romo into mistakes earlier this year?
Bill Davis doesn’t make in game adjustments to what an offensive is doing. He saw New Orleans running the ball down our throat last year…yet he stayed in the same defense..out of fear of Brees.
For the defensive to break down so badly is ridiculous….We were outcoached…AGAIN!!!
Lmao yet you were riding his meat after the Thanksgiving game and every win with Sanchez…
Now you flipflopped again.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Hey, who goes by the team name “Freddie Mitchells Hands” in the GCobb fantasy league?
It’s the real “Freddie Mitchell” ..
Is he still in jail?
Bottom Line the 2014 Season in a Nutshell
Eagles had Great Chances to make Statements in 6 Games this Season in my Opinion
1st Game – at Colts, Yes the Eagles Won, but did really were Outplayed for most of the Game where the Colts used a Overstacked OL and ran it down
the Eagles throats and only some questionable Play-Calling by the Colts in the 4th Quarter and Turnovers which gave the Eagles a Chance
2nd Game – at SF 49ers – Eagles Special Teams and Defense got the Eagles off to a Fast Start, but Offense was terrible and only crossed the 50 Yard Line 1 time in the Game and the Defense wore down as the Game went on and blew it in the 2nd half, but Offense contributed very little all game
3rd Game – At GB Packers – Complete meltdown by the Offense,Defense and the Coaching Staff who all were unprepared and lousy execution
4th Game – Turkey Day At Cowboys – – Eagles Played their most Complete Game of the Season..albeit against a very leg-heavy Cowboy Team that had to play a Tough 60 minute Game that Sunday Night at the Giants, so I was not fooled by this Performance..
5th Game – Home vs Seahawks – Another Game where Eagles Game Planning, Execution & Offense was totally lacking..They Played Scared and were no match to even challenge the Seahawks and this after getting a Gift TD on a muffed Punt to start the Game at Home….
6th Game – Home vs Cowboys – Go in the Hole 21-0 in the first Quarter,
Fumble the Opening Kick, Penalties, Poor game Plan and Execution,
Allowing WR D Bryant time and time again to beat Fletcher one on one…
At least I give Eagles Credit in fighting back and even took the lead 27-24 in the 3rd Quarter but Defensively ran out of Gas and Offensively just poor Play by QB, WR’s and most importantly, the OL Caved in…
So here we are with 6 Statement Games to make this Year and the Eagles
were 2-4 which includes a Gift Win by the Colts…
The Losses were one-sided versus the Packers,Seahawks and Cowboys
with 2 of them at Home..
The Eagles have lost 3 of their last 5 Games and their Final 2 Home Games
and to be honest, they do not deserve to make the Post-Season…
It is what it is….
When you lead the NFL in Turnovers, you are not going to be Average to Good Teams and this has been a huge Issue all Season long and it’s not just the QB Position, though Foles/Sanchez have had their share of Turnovers, But McCoy, Sproles, Huff, Celek, etc,etc have all put the ball on the Ground
Jordan Matthews after a nice first half of the Season has hit the Rookie Wall and has struggled the last couple of games with big drop passes..
Zac Ertz has disappeared for a while now during his Sophomore Slump and has not taken that next Step with Consistency
This Team has a lot of Issues, I think Coach Kelly has to address some things with the Defensive Play Calls where 3rd Down Defense has been an disaster all year long, Costly Penalties have absolutely killed this Defense
There is Age along the OL with Peters,Mathis & Herremans
RB McCoy has not been the same explosive Back as he has the last few years… Sproles was under-utilized in this Offense as was Polk
WR Position lacks a Big-Play- stretch the field type of Receiver
QB Position lacks a QB who can get it down the field with consistency and accuracy, so have little to no “deep threat” gives Defense’s a huge advantage in Coverage Design’s, Blitz Packages, etc,etc since they are not afraid of being beaten over the Top
At the end of 2014, there appear to be more Questions than Answers about this Eagle Team which is the most surprising of all…
Since Chip Kelly arrival, there has always been a sense of Direction, A Plan and Process in Place.. Lately over the last Month, there seems to be distractions, lack of focus & energy and maybe Coach Kelly is bored, mulling over other options he may have, but clearly, this Team is not playing the type of Team Ball we saw the end of last Season or even the beginning of this Season
It’s one thing to lose and have games that go down to the wire and can go either way, but we have witnessed 3 lopsided losses against Teams that Eagles are competing against in the NFC and it appears that the Eagles are no serious match for the Top Tier Teams in the NFC and have really not closed the gap as many of us were hoping they would this Season
“…it appears that the Eagles are no serious match for the Top Tier Teams in the NFC and have really not closed the gap as many of us were hoping they would this Season”
No kidding Paulman?…Its hard to close the gap when you get rid of offensive weapons like DJax and keep 4th string receivers like Racist Riley has your starting receiver.
There is your gaping gap right there!
You need talent to beat the good teams…I dont care how good your ‘system’ is…I dont care about the ‘team morale’…you need TALENT.
The kool aid that has been bought is that Chip Kelly is such a offensive mastermind he can scheme his way to wins against the inferior, mental capabilities of defensive coordinators around league.
What we are finding is that the good defensive coordinators have gotten a bit used to Chip Kelly’s offensive and getting rid of a super talent like DJax for ‘culture’ and ‘team morale’ and getting nothing in return while keeping Riley Cooper has had a big impact on the team.
We can beat up bum teams…but the big boys with good defenses have been a real struggle and we dont have the Quarterback that can go to war with the good defenses!
Its Ok KoolFlipFlop…remember they should fire him after the year like your said since they may not make the playoffs.
I mean he finally got a QB in Sanchez that can make throws into tight windows and fixed the redzone scoring problems….so get rid of Chip…hes done.BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
IDIOT.
Speaking about DeSean Jackson in a Tuesday conference call, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said “we haven’t seen the DeSean we need to see.”
its crazy you would think he would quit making himself look like a retard
I believe D-Jax gets Cut/Released after the Season by the Skins..
(If Jay Gruden is still around that is)
Redskins have Pierre Garcon, Andre Roberts, Promising Ryan Grant, TE Niles Paul & Jordan Reed and don’t really need D-Jax
D-Jax gets released only if he asks for a raise…..that was likely before he got hurt but he will probably finish the season around his career averages. 8 million next is good for both sides.
Pierre Garcon is getting cut.
Jay Gruden is a complete moron, he actually made the statement that this is a what have you done for me lately league. Really? If that were the case his dumbass would have been fired 5 weeks ago.
Big, theres a ton going on here that most dont see. Remember DJaxs “Epic” twitter post….Garcon threw one up on instagram and most say its questioning DJax giving up on plays in the Giants game.
It’s coming apart at the seams here.
Big, Gruden is playing a game of chicken with Snyder. He has $16 million coming to him either way. I think he is saying ” look you can’t win with toxic a.holes”. “So you owe me four more years let’s do it my way”. You remember his brother played chicken with Davis and got to Tampa , his brother had a record behind him and jay has $16 million.
This is a classic power struggle. Part two Gruden could have said ” I agree with chip”….
I’m done with the Foles/Sanchez thing except to add this, I cannot stand to watch this Sachez goof act like an NFL QB when he’s no better then the other USC goof Barkley. As for Foles we continuously debate his ceiling when really the only thing that matters is he’s as brittle as Vick. How many stats versus games missed due to injury? We don’t have a QB if we’re debating these two period.
For all you in the In Chip we trust crew, how could you guys not see this coming? The ego, the culture over talent, signing Williams, Fletcher and Sanchez, hiring Bill Davis who hasn’t proven anything in all his years as a coach except putting mediocre units on the field, please someone find out how many starters were drafted after that great value pick of Matt Barkley. Can I get a show of hands on how many think Marcus Smith was the best player available where he was drafted. Man I hope and pray that I’m wrong about all this.
“As for Foles we continuously debate his ceiling when really the only thing that matters is he’s as brittle as Vick.”
Actually more than anything that’s my issue with Foles. He’s officially in the Mr. Glass box with Vick, RG3, Bradford, Locker etc.
Truthfully if their is a stud team around them you can win with Foles or Sanchez (Sanchez has been to 2 AFC championship games on the strength of stellar defenses) – so the point is moot about who’s the best.
He has been hurt every year he has been in the league..
Anyone See the Acme and Dietz & Watson Commercial’s featuring Marcus Mariotta that are being played in Mariotta’s home state of Hawaii…
Very Interesting ….
***Paulman Trade Rumor’s***
Eagles Trade their 1st Round Pick (#19 Overall) along with QB Nick Foles,
TE Zac Ertz and DE Vinny Curry along with their 1st Round Pick in 2016 to the Tennessee Titans for the # 2 Overall Selection in the 2015 Draft and will allow the Eagles to Select either QB’s Marcus Mariotta or Jameison Winston..
The Eagles also announce a 2 Year Contract extension with Mark Sanchez to buy a season or two before one of the Young QB’s is ready for 2016
and are prepared to Release the Following Players who are under Contract
once the Season Ends (12/28/2014)
Offense – Todd Herremans, James Casey, Riley Cooper, Matt Barkley
Defense – Trent Cole, Carey Williams
Players who are Free-Agents and will not be Offered Contracts to Return
Nate Allen, Bradley Fletcher, Casey Matthews, Cedric Thornton
Brad Smith & Justin Vandervelde, Jason Phillips
Current Eagles who are Free-agents who will be Offered Contracts
Maclin, Sanchez & Polk
Good Times ahead …
I’d make that trade Paulman and go after Devin McCarty and Revis in Free Agency..
If that draft was redone foles would be the 2nd-3rd qb taken. Im still not sold on lucks turnover prone ass but he like foles has the ability to forgot about the turnover and bring his team back for the win. That means something. Wilson is just smarter and more gifted than foles and luck but I’m still takin foles. I think the kid is the truth and will have a Tom Brady like career. Not sayin he will win us 3 Super Bowls just sayin he reminds me a lot of Tom Brady. Brady wasn’t exactly lighting it up his first few years either but he won games…just like foles
I don’t know about that bfdaking215…..I believe that Foles still has a decent chance to turn things around, but Luck and Wilson are both to very good and proven QB’s. Truthfully, the way that each play, I would have loved to see them both play in this system and see what kind of plays that Kelly would draw up for them. Foles has the size but both Luck and Wilson have quick feet and the ability to be a threat in the read-option dimension of this offense. Luck would be crazy in this offense.
LMAO…Foles will have a ‘Tom Brady’ career huh…LMAO!!!
You, Vinniedaloserass, and mhenski should be banned for life for such idiot statements that would compare Brady or Wilson with Nick Foles!
Well if that’s the case…surely the great offensive genius-Chip Kelly will be pushing for the Eagles to sign Foles to the big bucks…give him the security of the long term contract and the big signing bonus so that he can play loose and free next year–Right?
If Foles is “the guy”…as a Quarterback and the leader of the team you cant have him twisting in the wind playing in the last year of rookie deal when he is your future, your go to QB.
Foles is the next Tom Brady…so we have to lock him in long term…that has to be what the Eagles are saying…isn’t it?
Money Talks and Bullshit Walks…you and few other guys on here feet must be killing you!
LMAO…
Except that Russell Wilson doesnt have a contract yet and Drew Brees played for the Franchise Tag.
LMAO YOU ARE AN IDIOT.
Do you know your ass from your head? Fool Ass…we are not talking about Seattle and New Orleans…we are talking about the Eagles who have a normative practice of offering contracts as soon as possible to players they like and want to wrap up. They offered Maclin a contract last year in an effort to get him at a bargain price.
Where are Seattle and New Orleans in relation to the cap…Fool!
With the Eagles and 20 million dollars in cap space, and the Quarterback is the most important position on the team….it stands to reason that they would value him and offer him a big time contract with a nice signing bonus!
Money Talks and Bullshit Walks
Shut da fyck up Toasty and get your walk on!!
Lmao so they are going to give an above market value contract to an injured player who they control the rights to for one more year and have the ability to TAG the following year…
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
YOU
ARE
AN
IDIOT.
Stupid Ass Toasty!
Either he is your franchise QB or he is not…and no one said anything about giving him an above market contract either -Dumb ass!
They offered Maclin a contract after coming off of a serious knee injury because they felt he was valuable!
The Eagles policy has been to lock up players they consider valuable!
Russell Wilson wont be a lame duck QB playing in the last year of his rookie deal without a major extension. Neither will Andrew Luck!
Take that to the bank fool!
Foles is going to make the same arguments..you fools are making to the Eagles brass…he is going to say:
“Hey the team is 14-4 with me…I was 27tds and 2 interceptions in 2013, the O-line was hurt in 2014…I deserve to be the guy you give the extension too and sign for a long term deal”
If I was Nick Foles and my agent is not pressing to make that deal for a long term contract…using that argument-I would fire him.
The question is simple
The Quarterback is the most important position on the team….it stands to reason that IF they value him-like you and Vinniedaloserass do-they would offer him a big time contract with a nice signing bonus!
We can go back and forth every day on this…but the bottom line is what do the Eagles brass think?
Money Talks and Bullshit Walks
I know the difference between my ass and head. My ass is what your momma licks and my head is what your mom sucks
Foles over Luck and Wilson that’s got to be a joke?
There’s an objective measure of arm strength, the radar gun.
At the combine foles arm strength graded out objectively eith a high reading, stop you idiots who judge foles arm on your visual acumen, vast scouting experience
Sanchez BEFORE surgery to repair a torn labrum had an equally strong srm, but unlike Tommy surgery, a repaired labrum almost always is a career ender of arm strength
3 Blind mice. 3 blind mice. See how they’re dumb, see how they’re dumb.
Koolidiot, TS and Skayne. Making shit up and grasping at straws ’cause its all they have.
I mean its just too easy.
TS today:
“Once again, Foles does not lead Sanchez in any statistical measure other than int% – that’s it. Nada. ”
Wrong.
Do you only watch the first halves of games TS? Actually, this just might be the case. You former hero was a great 1st half player too, but pretty terrible in the second half.
Sanchez is the same.
You are downright laughable when you make allusions to Sanchez giving the Eagles the same chance to win tight games as Foles. The two are light years apart.
Its not even close.
Have a look dumbass.
Career:
Sanchez 43 2nd half tds. 44 2nd half interceptions. In the 4th Q its worse with 21tds to 24 ints. If trailing a close game in the final 4 mins, Sanchez is pathetic. 8 tds 14 interceptions.
Foles: 25 2nd half tds 7 ints. In the 4th its 10tds and 3 ints. Trailing a close game in the final 4 mins? 3tds 0 ints.
Its not even close. Sanchez is a front running pussy who does well when a team is leading, but folds like a wet-nap when the pressure rises.
Foles is a grinder. He might look awkward and fuck up a bit at the start, but he’s always there getting better and better at the end of every game and always giving the Eagles a chance.
You don’t see this because you are blind.
Did the career stats translate to this year? Of course they did.
This year Sanchez was in 2 close games. Seattle and Dallas. How’d he do in the 4th in those close games? Like always. Pathetically.
Sanchez in the 4th this year against Dallas and Seattle??
1td 3 ints
Foles in 4 close games against Indy, Wsh, SF and Ariz? 4th Q? 3 tds 0 ints.
What a suprise. Sanchez is a weak-assed quitter. Foles is a grinder.
More proof….
Sanchez in the 4th vs Seattle
Inc Inc Inc Comp Inc Inc INT Comp Sack Sack Complete. Way to step up Puss.
Sanchez late after Dallas took the late lead?
Inc INT Sack Inc Comp Comp Inc Sack Sack Complete Int. Way to step up puss.
Front running, bad body language puss Sanchez who quits when a snowflake hits his nose. His 10 tds this year?? 2 against Houston, 2 against GB….but the 1st coming mid-4th GB when Eagles down 33 and GB on the Bus celebrating (oh wait, should I have coutnted his 2 garbage time mop-up TDs????), 2 vs Carolina in a game that was over before it began.
Front-running puss that freezes when the going gets tough. Never a chance to win a close game with Sanchez. You are blind not to see this.
Foles? The opposite.
Vs Indy 4th Q
Inc Comp CompTD Comp Comp FG
With the game on the line he stepped up and led 2 scoring drives in the 4th
VS Was (after the hit)

Ariz goes 80 in 1 play. Eagles get ball down 4 with 1:20 to go. Response?
Comp Inc Comp Comp Inc Comp Inc Comp getting to the 16 with 7 secs left. Desperation heaves INC, but again….2 BIG TIME drives in a tough environment on the road.
You are a JOKE if you think pathetic Sanchez could ever do that.
You want stats? There you are losers.
Sanchez is a 4th Q disaster while Foles is a grinder.
Only a complete idiot would ever, ever take Sanchez or begin to espouse his virtues like you three knuckleheads do.
Fucking 3 blind Mice. See how they’re dumb, see how they’re dumb….
“Fucking 3 blind Mice. See how they’re dumb, see how they’re dumb….”
haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Vinniedafoolass
Foles a ‘grinder’…LMAO…
He ‘grinded’ his way to one of the worst offensive performances in Eagles recent history against San Francisco…(a close second to his debacle in the first game against Dallas last year when Romo played)
Foles kept terrible teams like Jacksonville in the game with his horrific play. Again…Foles was one of the least sacked QB’s this year yet he still led the league in turnovers, missed open receivers.
The bottom line is that we can go back and forth on Foles forever, throw stats at each other all day…but the bottom line comes down to … what does Chip Kelly and the Eagles think of Foles?
If Foles is such a ‘grinder’…such a ‘tough leader’ of the team…the Eagles surely wont allow him to twist in the wind next year as a lame duck QB without a long term contract!
They are going to pay him the ‘franchise QB money’ with a big signing bonus that vinniedalosingassfool and the racist troll mhenski argue that he is worth-Right?
Money talks and Bullshit walks…
Lets see if Foles is talking or walking next year!
kool im surprised you can even type
you must have so much mark sanchez jizz all over your fingers its ridiculous
mhenski the reason why you cant see the game is all that jizz you take in the face in the back of ya mama’s trailer park home
Stop being a worthless slurper all of you life and wipe the jizz off of ya face
I don’t dick ride and suck players cocks like you did with Sanchez. That’s you Ya racist dick riding ankle grabber
The best part about Koolidiot’s “I hate Foles” shit is this year’s QB stock.
After Jameis Winston (and no GM is going to want to put that impending disaster on their team), pretty must the next 10-15 top rated QBs are all white.
Its the reason Koolidiot didn’t answer my question earlier about who he wants the Eagles to take….who in the draft does he think would be better than Foles.
He doesn’t want any of them! No matter who the Eagles take at QB (if they do) guaranteed Koolidiot is in here screaming how terrible they are too!
Ummm Vinny, you do know that QB Brett Hundley from UCLA is African American, or black, which ever you want to use to identify his so called race.
I though he was staying in school.
It doesn’t matter. You put him on the list of QB’s you asked koolbreeze about. You insinuated that kool would not want any of those QB’s, including Hundley because you were under the impression that they were all white.
I have my differences with kool, but he wanted Manziel….and stated that clearly. last time I checked. Johnny Manziel was as white as you can get…although he does have some swag. He is still garbage though…right Kool?
Eaglehaslanded…I applaud your effort to be fair…the fact of the matter is I dont care about the color of the Qb. Never have…never will…
There are racist bastards on here who only like Nick Foles because he’s white.
I dont like Nick Foles but it has absolutely nothing to do with his skin color…I dont like him because he sucks as a QB. He is not and never will be a franchise QB.
But later for what we think and feel about the QB’s here.
We are going to find out what the Eagles really think about him too.
Money talks and Bullshit walks…
Koolbreeze is a true and real racist He sees colors , he calls people racists because they knew Vick was one of the worst qbs in football and that’s fact yet he said they were racists because they don’t support bad qbs.
Then he assumes I’m white and talks at me about trailer parks.
Now people are racists because they support a winning qb when our team has zero other options.
Kool is the real racist on here and one of the only ones. Everything boils down to race to him. While it’s true he is just really dumb and doesn’t understand logic , facts , football & well not much of anything. So i infer his pea brain can’t understand there is more to football and life than skin colors. But the fact remains he is a racist
Hey vinnie look at the rushing stats between Mark Sanchez and Nick Foles –
that more mobile Mark just hasn’t out produced Foles, BWAHAHAHAHAHA
***Reports from the Windy City that the Bears are Offering QB Jay Cutler
for a Punter in return…. Word is the Tennessee Titans are interested if Cutler re-works his Deal… There may be a $5 Million Buyout by the Bears to get out of the Deal and Allow Cutler to become a Free-Agent and get out of Town…..
Since 2007, eight first-round quarterbacks have been benched. None came back to become their team’s permanent starters again, and those who have had a chance to start because of injuries (like Manuel’s predecessor at Florida State, Christian Ponder, last night) have not done well.
Yeah….lets trade for RG3 and EJ Manuel…..
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
IDIOTS.
The 49ers will have 3 ILBs that will want to start next year is healthy…..no way they are giving away Chris Borland….but Bowman or Willis may be available….
Connor Cook will be returning to Mich St. for his senior year. He must have not liked his draft grade.
There’s little surprise about Cook staying in School for he’s only been graded as a 4th/5th Rd Prospect.
Now he will go back for his Senior Season and if he has a good Year, He can move up to a 2nd Round, maybe a late 1st Round
Everyone check out lesean McCoys impersonation of desean. Hilarious. On leaeans Instagram
Regardless. White or Black. Koolmouse is still hiding from the questions like the little mouse he is.
1 – Who’s the guy Koolidiot?
Who will be able to come in here and put up a better win% than 14-4 or a better TD/Int ratio than 37-9 like Foles has in 2 years under Kelly?
2 – How long will he get Koolidiot?
If a new rookie comes in, how long does he have till Koolmouse calls him a bust as he has Foles? 10 games? 14?? He’s given Foles less than 2 seasons as a starter….will he do the same?
Because five 2 int games in 24 starts is too much for Foles. He’s a turnover machine.
How many multi-int games will he allow?
5 in 12 games like Bortles?
4 in 12 games like Carr?
9 in 27 starts like Geno – a guy he once touted?
3 in 10 starts like Bridgewater?
Remember….the bar has been set….5 in 24 games is too much!
How many 3 int games will he allow (something Foles has never done) ??
4 in the first 2 years like Luck???
2 in his first year and a half like Geno?
How is Koolidiot going to to react when the new guy comes in and doubles that INT amount while the win percentage drops from 75% to 50???
LOL…Vinny, you’re killing me because you are making me defend Koolbreeze, albeit de facto. You cannot ignore you’re original premise, that koolbreeze did not want one of the QB’s you listed solely based on their alleged racial identity. You were dead wrong and stuck your foot in your mouth stating that he was basically a racist when that clearly is not true. You can’t run away from that or attempt to cover it up by stating “Regardless” and developing a curtailed argument. You got caught attempting to prove one racist, but you enlightened your own ignorance while attempting to do so. The more you try to clarify or justify your position, the deeper you dig yourself into a hole! You were wrong plain and simple. So wrong, you should man up and offer an apology. Calling someone a racist..when they are not is wrong, and you are wrong. There is no escaping that.
I should have said hi lighted instead of enlightened.
Listen….Koolidiot Spend 3 years on here defending a terrible QB in Mike VIck. Giuy could do no wrong despite a decade of low-level mediocrity.
Then he touts Krapernick, RGIII, Newton, EJ, Geno, Taj Boyd for chrisssakes….all African American QBs. Never does he mention anyone else.
All the while continually and constantly slagging Nick Foles. Nick Foles who:
a – is better than all those guys
b – had a better start to his career than all those guys
c – has a better win % than all those guys
Now…did he throw Manziel on the pile? Sure. That was just BS. Had to be. Everyone but everyone knew/knows Manziel was going to fail in the bigs…..even Koolidiot knows this….he had to right? Only a complete buffoon would not recognize this….wait, on second thought……anyway….he just put him in there to cover his bases so he could have his token white guy to promote.
There is NO Other reason we’ve had to listen to Koolidiot wax poetically about shitty QB after shitty QB while continually slagging another QB who put up numbers, and banked wins at a rate the other would dream of…if not race.
Vinny if kool is racist then i guess you just love black people dont you. go ahead and claim wilson as your token qb but you cant even do that because you dont thonk he is that good either.
No. I don’t.
No u dont love black people or you dont think wilson is good lol just fucking with ya. i know u mean wilson
He’s good. But I certainly don’t put him in the upper echelon. I do not think, had he been on the Eagles instrad of Foles, he would have had the results Foles did.
Foles on the Seahawks and they still have a good shot at the SB last year. Wilson on the Eagles and he’s not 14-4.
We will never know that vinnie he could have better stats in chips offense and probally better due to his running capability i know this we have way more players on offense then seattle. but what people on here who dont think foles all that. i never think we are out of game with foles and thats the complete opposite with sanchez i just hope he can make enougj plays for us to win
Sounds like Kool is a racist to me
He might be henski but with all the shit vinny has said on here in the past he got the nerve to call anybody racist. but at the end of day everybody on here except ts and skayne thinks kool is a retard
“Mike Vick Sucks” = Racist.
Good times.
Vinnie when vick wasnt sucking you still hated him. you never got behind him as our qb. That being sad he is not that good but if he was you would hate him anyway, so yeah that would make you a racist or a dog lover lol
Dog lover – yes.
“when he was good”
Man….it was a 6 game mirage because he had been out of the league and there was no film. We’ve been over this. I knew he was going to revert to his career averages, because everyone reverts to his career averages. Vick was what he always was. Sub-mediocre (and I am being kind)
Look at Sanchez…he has a couple good halves against Houston and Carolina and suddenly there was a “looming QB controversy”.
Joke.
Sanchez is Sanchez. A bad QB.
What a joke. Anyone with any
zilents if you read kools posts daily you would know its without question he is a racist.
i read vinnys posts everyday for years and the man is always objective and for sure not racist. vinnie was always right about vick. did he have a nice run? for sure but he had a nice run as a backup qb filling in for an injured starter…
the problem was when we gave him a ridiculous deal for a shit qb. he was never good, never talented enough to get that deal and vinnie and many others wanted to win a superbowl not be competitive and unable to win a superbowl. vick had a 10 year track record of being terrible and a choker. we all knew how that story would end. were we all on board with his great play? yep! but we also knew how it would end. Vick always was and always will be an awful qb.
Ill take your word on vinnie and I hated the contract also but what most fans knew that mv never had a good qb tutor and andy was perfect for him. so after that great stretch most fans thought with andy no way he can be that old mv but he did and the line problems didnt help
vick never had a qb tutor >????? cmon man. he had plenty , he just refused to watch tape and put in the work and that is well documented
they say his weapons sucked in atl, his oline, his coaches, his defenses… but its all bullshit excuses and mike has admitted it himself.
truth be told i once hated mike because of his play, mostly because he gave all his atlanta fans the finger, but also because he was an awful citizen and a poor role model.
but i find it absolutely amazing how he turned his life around and by all accounts has become a great person
No problem mhenski…thank you!
Ok the fact that he start caring about being a real qb after jail helped people believe he could be a good qb, but he reverted and couldnt do it, but you gotta admit having andy as your coach helped a lot.
Vinny, he constantly harped and harangued on the Eagles taking Manziel during the draft, you continue to conveniently ignore that fact..Why?, Because it destroys your argument, it is what is called an inconvenient fact. This is not about Kool..stop deflecting. It’s about you making an assumption without all the facts. The fact is kool wants a quarterback with mobility. The fact is the majority of QB’s in this league with mobility happens to be African American. That does not make him a racist, that makes him want a QB that is mobile, and the majority of them are black. He also said he would like to see Davis from the Rams come in too..Davis is white also. You seem to rail against mobile QB’s, most of whom are black, so does that make you a racist? No, it makes you a person who does not want a QB that runs around a lot. Your preference is a pocket passer. Look past the surface level bullshit and think with reason. I read a lot of the bullshit being posted when McNabbb and Vick was behind center, all of the buzz words, can’t read defenses, athletic QB as opposed to smart etc.. So there is probably some hard feelings involved. However, when Someone states they want Manziel, Davis or Sanchez, none of which are black simply because they are mobile..What does race or ethnicity have to do with it? Once again, this started because you did not do your homework/research and thought Hundley was not black…Question for you…Why did you assume he (Hundley) was white? Because he was a QB at UCLA perhaps!
Listen…I was called a racist on here about 78,993,003x over the past 4 years exactly because I think MV is a piece of shit Qb…and that yes, I want a pocket passer because they win championships while running QBs show up once every 2 weeks on ESPN before ending the season on a stretcher.
Now the shoe gets dropped on the other foot and Its all, “you misunderstand his intentions….”
Please, spare me.
Koolidiot hates Foles. He spews vitriol about it, and what I never did…constantly changes the parameters of his arguments to suit his “I hate Foles” agena.
Foles need “tight windows tough throws” Sanchez just needs to “hit open WRs” Foles has to show he can beat good D, What can you expect from Sanchez it was against Seattle….
Look….whatever….I propose a possible explanation to his crazy level of hate and…..
What does UCLA have to do with anything?
very simple, vinny it’s to see if you are racist cuz that’s what this is about now
What is up with this listen?, talk to your child like that son I’m a grown ass man. I let it go the first time….Listen sounds pretty condescending to me.
What does UCLA have to do with anything? Plenty… It’s just the school that Hundley plays for…..that’s all. So you are making statements about things you do not know about…just be informed as to what you are talking about when you try to prove a point. It’ll help your argument.
I am well aware of Kools statements as it pertains to Foles, I do not need a refreshing run down, I have gone back and forth with him about the same shit…and I know you are well aware of that. There’s a reason I called him Tahj Boyd. My beef is with you making claims that he is a racist when it is a bullshit accusation and I am calling you on the carpet for it. I’m challenging you on it. Sorry if you do not like to be challenged but when I disagree with someone that’s what I do. I’m just asking you to prove he is a racist, you are doing a poor job at it…period. Liking mobile quarterbacks and disliking Nick Foles does not make him a racist…no more than you not liking Vick, RG3, Cam or Kaep, but liking Foles makes you a racist. You railed for years against Vick and please don’t spew the dog bullshit either. Vick did suck, but if Kool likes mobility then Vick is his guy. You turned this into a black white issue, now that I am calling bullshit on your argument you don’t like it. Too bad..it’s bullshit!
Oh, and I can’t listen since we are not talking, I will read your posts though, whether I agree or disagree!
eagles has landed
does calling someone a racist for zero reasons make you yourself a racist?
does calling people racist because they hated mike vicks pathetic qb play and wanted to see what foles can do make make you yourself a racist?
does bringing up race in conversations about sports for zero reasons make you a racist?
does assuming someone is white and calling them trailer trash or making trailer park jokes make them racists?
i happen to think the answers to these questions are yes. and thus support my reason to call koolbreeeze a racist
within the last few days koolbreeze has called me a racist at least 5 times for zero reasons, not one. i asked him to provide me with at least one reason and his response was to fuck my mom in the trailer park or something…
kool is a racist
vinnie did not make this about race, kool did a long time ago but as recently as this monday kool started dropping race accusations because he was soo embarrassed his boy sanchez failed, because he was getting heat for being a hypocrite …
Mhenski, if you see me as a racist, I will be a racist to you. I am not afraid, nor uncomfortable talking about race and/or racism…I do not stick my head in the sand when the subject comes up. I know I am not one, so if someone wants to think I am one, have at it. It just depends on what your definition and criteria of being a racist is. So if I fit your criteria of a racist because I have the unmitigated gall and audacity to challenge Vinny on what he is saying, then fine, I am a racist according to your definition and feling…not ashamed and certainly will not run from it either!
Oh and mhenski, if you read the statements Vinny made asking Koolbreeze to identify a QB off of a list, then stating he will not because Vinny believed that all of the QB’s were white and Kool would not like them because they were white, I then informed Vinny that Hundley was black, that is how race came up. If you can’t see that, well i don’t know what to tell you. Clearly Vinny played the race card. But go ahead..blame the black guy…hey..we are used to it!!!
we are use to it lol……classic ehl
Wait a minute Eaglehaslanded – us Irish people demand that we be given some of the blame. Keep it fair….
Nah man I don’t see you as a racist the only racist I see is Kool.
I was responding to you saying vinnie calling Kool a racist was unfounded and its founded bro for those questions and examples I gave.
And I don’t want to speak for vinnie but it certainly seems that his race comment to Kool was in direct response to Kool calling people racists for zero reasons.
It’s ok for Kool to call vin a racist for zero reasons but it’s not ok for vin to call him a racist?
Why aren’t you calling out Kool for calling me a racist, vinnie a racist and others for zero reasons?
now that is true ehl kool does call people races all the time…he doesn’t have any reasons for it
mhenski, I do not think Vinny is a racist either. I have a pretty straight forward definition what a racist is, neither of them meet the criteria, in part, because I do not know them. There is some prejudice, I myself am prejudice. I will think something about someone because of what they look like and have been proven wrong.
To answer your questions though, I have enough of my own personal wars with koolbreeze on here where we go back and forth. I can’t go back and forth with him about somebody else. Vinny opened a door with a silly comment involving Brett Hundley, I chose to tackle it and it evolved, it’s clearly something I am passionate about. But mhensky, you are a big guy, you can handle your business. But who knows, one day, you may see me defending you bro! For the record, when kool calls people racist, I think he is wrong too when it’s just based on bullshit! Just because someone does not like a player who happens to be black, white etc, does not make them a racist. if they do not like them because they are, well….
IrishEagle..lol… OK you can take some blame too…lol…
I have some ancestry from Ireland..I am a true mixture, a mutt.
Thanks for the explanation and healthy banter ehl!
I have got to say that I have been on this site for a pretty good while now, and race is a topic that will blow up, but this back and forth was one of the more thoughtful and enlightend discussions that I have seen. There are perspectives from every angle, and respecting different perspectives can lead to meaningful learning. As EHL described, burying your head in the sand doesn’t solve anything……maybe you should think about charging $$ for all of this free counseling EHL…lol.
Greenfan…LOL, I would moderate a free forum discussion on the subject with no problem. I would charge Kool and Vinny though.
Now…did he throw Manziel on the pile..Sure. That was BS. Had to be. Wow!!!You’re speculating on your Manziel point simply to try to prove your point Vinny. Where is your proof to back that statement up…. that’s pathetic. Stop looking for ways to prove your point and divert attention from what you said. Question for you. Why did you assume Brett Hundley was white?
I’ll answer that one ehl what black dude you know brett hundley now if his name was tavaris or leroy then vinny would know lol….throwing shade
Z44 LOL…exactly! Damn… at least google the dude you are talking about before making an assumption. UCLA plays every week for 12 weeks, they come on television weekly…tune in…do something..damn!
vinniedaloserass…you have been a bitter asshole for the last few years and you always thought my defense of Vick was based on the color of his skin.
You were always wrong -dumb ass
Eaglehaslanded exposed you.
Mhenski is a racist ass and I knew it from the moment he attacked me about the word ‘loss’…nothing to do with sports talk but misusing a word in these forums sent him into a long racist rant.
The exact kind of criticism that racist assholes put forth on a sports-talk forum…
Fool ass exposed himself.
The bottom line is that when it comes to QB’s for the Eagles, I am not looking at what I believe will be more effective in our system. For this system, I have been consistent.
Vinniedafoolass has a selective memory. I also liked Carr coming out of college but not as much as Manziel.
I liked Johnny Football because in college he was clutch
He has heart
He has mobility and speed
He has a strong arm
Foles has none or very little of any of that…we will never win with a team based on offense with him as the franchise QB. This was his year to prove that he was worth the big bucks…this was the pressure year…he went out and led the league in turnovers.
I think Manziel would work better in Chip Kelly’s system than what he has in Cleveland. I have always given my objective view of what I think a successful QB will look like in Chip Kelly’s system…
1. Strong arm that can threaten a defensive anywhere on the field-Foles doesn’t have that
2. Mobility to run the read option-Foles doesn’t have that
3. Guts…moxie…the ‘it’ factor-Foles doesn’t have that
4. Leadership…the confidence of the team that says…”Yes, Foles is the leader of this football team”- Foles doesn’t have that either
Foles is a limited QB with a average arm, he is terribly slow, and he cant handle pressure…at best he is a back up.
Games like he had against San Francisco this year and Dallas last year will become the norm as teams figure him out more. He led the league in turnovers and he was getting worst just as he got hurt.
Sanchez was an upgrade.
The proof that will back up what I am saying is the contract or lack there of that the Eagles offer Foles…We see their policy…they made an offer to Brandon Graham
What kind of contract will they give Nick Foles, Vinniedafoolass…why do u keep ducking that issue
Koolbreeze, If mhenski is a racist for going after you for misspelling or using a word out of proper context, then I am one too. I went after mhenski for misspelling a word last year…lol…he got mad and came back at me hi lighting words I misspelled all over the board. No big deal.
I also came after you for misspelling a word also. Once again, no big deal. I do not know if more shit was said that would make you think he is a racist as I do not read or remember every post..but, hopefully, that is not the extent of your sole criteria to label someone a racist. If so, like I said, I guess I am double the racist because I went after him, and you. You gotta suck that bullshit up. It’s not that deep…if he called you a dumb black or something along those lines, you’d have a valid argument, I don’t see someone saying it because they believe you are black or whatever nationality you may claim (I know black is not a nationality). We need to stop throwing the word racist around claiming this person or that person is. This is a sports site..we fuck with each other. If I don’t like someone on here, honestly, I just will not exchange dialogue with them.
And Kool, please stop with saying Manziel has a strong arm, did you not see that pop gun against the Bengals. He was intercepted because he did not have the strength to drill the ball in. Manziel’s arm can not touch Nick Foles. When Foles throws he throws with touch, that’s not a weak arm…but an attempt to be accurate and make the ball catchable for his receivers. That’s why mac said he prefers Nick’s balls….lol pun intended!…Nick’s passes.
That you don’t think Foles has a strong arm, isn’t a good decision maker for a young guy, or doesn’t have “leadership” or “guts” is exactly why your name is Koolidiot.
3 Blind mice…….
You know what it is Koolidiot…..you think you know what “guts” is. You think you know what “moxie” is.
You see some “Look at me” idiot who pounds his chest or rubs his “cash $$” fingers together, you think that’s “moxie”. Players like that have “it”
Well listen in on a secret son. Its the exact opposite of what you think.
“Look at me” idiots are the exact opposite of tough. They’re front running pussies who fold like tents the moment the going gets tough.
Those are the guys you love the most.
Anyone with any intelligence knows you can never, ever count on those guys.
Especially at QB, which should be the most unselfish. “look at everyone else” position in all of sports.
When he scored, Vick ran down the field pounding his chest. In every interview he talked about how he had to “make a play” You loved him.
When Manziel scores he rubs his fingers together. In his last interview he said the leage will have to change before he does. You love him.
When Foles scores he points at his teammates, walks to the sideline, then high fives them. When he gives an interview he commends his Oline, coaches and receivers. You hate him.
You love pretend tough and have no idea what real tough is.
Now all that shit u said about kool is right on vinny he loves all those me 1st players thats y nobody pays attention to his dumb post cuz he doesnt know what a good qb
Vinniedaloserass…
You are a complete idiot and you probably have never been involved with competition in your entire life!
Guts is the ability to stand tall in the pocket and take a hit to complete the pass…instead of chucking it up in fear off of your back foot petrified of taking the hit.
Guts is running the ball hard with determination to get in the endzone…instead of meekly going forward and getting arm tackled at the one yard line.
You are right about Foles…I think he is a nice, team guy…he wont mind at all sitting on the bench as a back up at all. He will say: “Whatever is good for the team”…
Foles will be content and happy as a backup…He showed that when he was in a competitive situation…competing for the starting job with Mike Vick….he showed his ‘competitive fire’…
His collarbone wont “heal” this year at all…I can hear him now:
“It still hurts doc”….he’s not chomping at the bit to get back in there….he’s fine nursing his wounds.
Chip Kelly put the job up for grabs and told Vick and Foles to compete….we all know we folded under the pressure of competition…who blinked….Nick Foles!
Nick Foles is a nice guy…a ‘aww shucks who me’ kinda of guy…
He’s not a winner…and when the pressure to perform was on Nick Foles against good teams he folded up…under the pressure to earn his keep and perform for a new contract…he led the league in turnovers and threw for under 60%…he stunk!
So your right….Vinniedaloserass….he’s not a ‘me’ guy at all…and there is no “I” in team…but there damm sure is a “I” in WIN….and Foles is not the guy that can win the big one.
I didnt want to come on here anymore I truly think the eagles dont deserve to go playoffs we had chances to prove we belong with the best and failed miserably. Our secondary is so garbage i actually got sick watching fletcher get beat on fly routes by dez. straight embarrasing. kelly called a bs game and sanchez cant mAke simple nfl throws to save his life. If we go to playoffs i will root for my team but i thonk we all know what capped season means now. I applaud you ehl you are the most rational un bias fan on here. You are a great poster and make it fun to read your comments.
Hey zilents, I think a lot of Eagles fans feel the same as you, at least this one does. Also, I have the same opinion on ehl, always enjoy reading what he has to say.
I think you have said that you live in DC…if I am right, what is the talk about in DC with this game? Have they all just packed it in for the season or do they want to get a chance to knock the birds out of the playoffs? That first game was really physical, but I wonder is the Skins are still playing with that same intensity?
They actually want to win for jim haslett a lot of players like him and they want to win but if we get rg3 down early and put up points early they wont fight back much
I heard that Gruden said the same thing about RGIII this week, not letting him fall behind early otherwise it looks like trouble for the Skins. We have all been fans of this team too long to know that it is a division game, and no matter what the records are, if you don’t come prepared for a battle you can easily lose. No better way for the Skins to salvage something from this disaster of a season then to knock the Birds out of the playoffs. The Eagles had better not take either of these next two games lightly, to maintain even their slim playoff hopes.
Believe it or not i think its more pressure on the cowboyz to win. The redskins hate the cowboys more then us. he skins defense matches up better against cowboys then they do with us. the corners of the skins are linky long players with attitude I would rather have amerson and the clemson rookie ( forgot his name) then our scrubs. that rookie shut dez down. I really wanted him in the draft pman claimed him first.
Colts have little to play for since they will not catch Broncos or Pats for a possible #2 Seed as they already lost to both Teams Head to Head..
Luck probably plays a half, No TY Hilton, No Colts Running Game…
It’s going to be the Cowboys winning big I’m afraid..
The Eagles most likely lose to the Giants in the Final Game anyways as WR Odell Beckham Catches 13 Passes for 240 Yards and 3 TD’s versus the Eagles Secondary..
Eagles need to ponder some Trades to acquire more Draft Picks for 2015 to overhaul this Secondary and get younger across the OL and add some NFL worthy WR’s to it’s Roster
Do you Trade McCoy, Celek, Mathis — I would
I would also Flat out Release Players under Contract like Cooper, Herreman’s,J Casey,T Cole,Cary Williams, DeMeco Ryans, J Maehl,
M Barkley and take the Cap HIts
I would not Re-Sign following any of the following Free-Agents – B Fletcher, Nate Allen, Casey Matthews, Brad Smith, Mark Sanchez
Eagles will need about 20 New Players in 2015
Secondary – 2-3 CB’s & 1-2 Safeties
LB – 2 ILB and 1 OLB
DL – 1-2 DL
WR – 2-3 WR’s (build around Maclin,Matthews &Huff)
OL – 2-3 to Replace Herremans, maybe Mathis, groom for LT
QB – 1 to 2 (1 Veteran & 1 Young to Replace Sanchez/Barkley)
RB – 1 to 2 (Need Depth, McCoy & Sproles another Year Older)
TE – 1 (to replace Casey and upgrade over Burton)
Maybe add a new Defensive Coordinator to replace Billy Davis
and a Secondary Coach
You are truely out of your mind. In all likelihood this team will finish with a 21-11 regular season record for the last 2 years and you believe that they will replace 20 players in a single offseason? 20 players??!!
he just says stuff like that for attention….
Lol he cant help himself
lesean mccoy is 26. not time to start looking for his replacement
AND CONTRARY TO WHAT PAULMAN THINKS. COLTS WILL PLAY TO WIN FROM START TO FINISH
there is still a chance colts can get a bye albeit unlikely but a chance nonetheless.
I am not concerned with McCoy’s age for he starting Young in the NFL but McCoy is finishing up his 6th Season with almost 1,500 Carries… He has peaked and is now running with “House $$”.. The Law of Averages are not on his side..
The Eagles would be smart to move him while his Value will never be as High as it is right now.. (Actually it’s already come down with his so-so performance this Season)
No Team is likely to be interested in his Big Contract so in the end, the Eagles will have to just ride him out…
Yes – 20 Players
Gone are T Herremans,James Casey, Riley Cooper, Brad Smith, Jeff Maehl, Dennis Kelly, Justin Vandervelde, Matt Barkley, Cedric Thornton, Trent Cole, Casey Matthews, Bradley Fletcher, Nate Allen, Carey Williams, Earl Wolff , Jon Donebros, Trey Burton,
possibly Sanchez, D Ryans, D Molk, so yes, real close to 20 Players…
Lol….you are too much. Now Dorenbros is gone? I guess you needed a lot of names to list to get to 20. Too much.
A $1 Million + for a Long-Snapper who doesn’t play anywhere else.. J Donebros is a goner– You can find a 3rd String TE or DB
or RB to be a Long-Snapper– It’s all about Versatility..
Trey Burton could very well be the LS next Season which opens up another Roster Spot…..
Riley Cooper is not being cut, his 2015 contract is guaranteed. The only way Jeff Lurie eats 5 million dollars in salary is if Riley Cooper continues to flash gang signs on Twitter or during NFL Football fights against DeAngelo Hall.
Fraud you and ignoring facts…dorenbos makes $955, the average LS makes 800$ and you never want versatility out of a LS! It’s too important of a position… Again your ignorance and stupidity (is that redundant?) is showing
Or if he continues to be s non producing locker room cancer.
Out with the Old and in with the New
Chip probably bring’s in a Long-Snapper from Oregon for 550K
Dorenbos is a locker room cancer? Lol
I think Davis may have to be replaced…for his defense to come up so small in a clutch game against Dallas is unacceptable. Heads should roll for failure.
If we can beat the Redskins Saturday…..
The Cowboys will lose to the Redskins next Sunday.
27-14.
Remember I said it first lol.
The Colts probably wont play Luck…they have nothing to gain. He is banged up, they wont be able to catch Denver or New England for the playoff spot.
T.Y Hilton probably wont play either….We may have a better shot at hoping Washington beats Dallas again…smh…this is fucked up begging for someone else to lose so we can back in…smh…damm
Only to get Blown out by the Packers or Seahawks in Round 1 at the Linc
Eagles are better off staying with the #19 Draft. Selection Instead
Of backing in which would put them #24 Range come Draft Time
paul you’ve been even more negative than normal this week…. is it the meds?
The colts won’t Play luck haaaaaa.
What an idiot
Kool lets bet it. I got luck playing all 4 quarters unless he gets injured and you got he doesn’t play all 4. Loser never posts on gcobb again?
Just looking ahead HAC,
This 2014 Team peaked too soon and lost their resolve and focus somehow,
Starting with the HC Kelly in my opinion…
Time to see some changes in Secondary
Boykin, Carroll & Watkins…
Let’s see more of Huff & Polk…
Even see Marcus Smith II at OLB…
they won’t look at it that way nor should they… that is a quitters attitude- fine to whine on the blog but they aren’t saying “i’d rather have the 19th pick than the 24th” or whatever==
lost their resolve? lost their qb and the back up is a BACK UP– all reporters are saying it wouldn’t be fair to put foles in if they make playoffs, he will be rusty– i disagree entirely– i’d rather have a rusty foles, i think that gives the best chance of winning.
and before you mention the cardinals- they are 3-2 getting ready to go 3-3 with a back up.. same as the eagles.
why do you even try to make sense with pman hac he is obviously not well and the meds are not working anymore…lol
yeah he continually proposes the ‘loser’ mentality except the one team that is going on their third straight tank he blasts that too!
paul doesn’t understand they are suppossed to try to win… all teams have to TRY– it doesn’t always work out but…
Lol z…..you are sooo right…and I continue to try and make sense of some of that shit until I have a headache….you are sooo right
You would think he gets paid to say the dumb shit he says….I really hope he does…most likely he just loves being center of attention
Maybe he does Z…..Pman could actually be a sockpuppet used by G to generate hits….stranger things have been known to happen….
Kool lets bet it. I got luck playing all 4 quarters unless he gets injured and you got he doesn’t play all 4. Loser never posts on gcobb again?
