This was not a classic game but you've got to give Brian Westbrook and A.J. Feeley credit for making the plays they had to make down the stretch to get the Birds this hard fought victory. They had to have and they got it.
The 17-7 win keeps the Eagles in the playoff hunt and prevented them from being the Dolphins first victim of the season. The Birds gave Miami hope because they trailed by 7-3 at the half. The Dolphins had scored on an 87 yard punt return by Ted Ginn Jr.
Feeley came overcame an interception and went on to play some solid football. He played better than Donovan McNabb who had thrown two bad interceptions and struggled to get any rhythm. His ankle injury is probably going to keep him out of next week's game against the New England Patriots.
The player of the game was Brian Westbrook as usual. He sliced through the Miami defense for 148 yards on 32 carries. It was a great performance by BWest as he continued his great year. Andy and Marty did what they should do the rest of the season, they gave the ball to Westbrook and let him control the game.
The defense played well but they were playing against a Miami offense which was being led by rookie John Beck who was starting the first game of his career. He struggled as expected but he did get rid of the football and suffered no sacks. The Eagles D a good job of stopping the Dolphins running game which was the strength of their offensive attack. Dolphin running back Jesse Chatman ran 22 times for 72 yards but was unable to get in the endzone with the game on the line and the Dolphins on the Eagles goal line.
