The question looming over the team after the game was who will start at quarterback against the Patriots. Donovan McNabb sprained his ankle and left the game after playing poorly. A.J. Feeley came in a led the Eagles to 2 TD's and the victory.
Clearly Feeley played better than McNabb but Andy Reid let it be known after the game that McNabb would be the starter if he could go against New England. I'm sure the focus will be on the quarterback position during the week before taking on the Pats but both Feeley and McNabb would have to play much better for the Eagles to have any chance of beating New England.
Reid said McNabb doesn't have a high ankle sprain, so chances are if he does miss a week, he would miss two of them. I don't expect him to play against the Pats but we'll have to wait and see.
Both quarterbacks made some mistakes which could have cost the Birds the game. McNabb threw a couple of awful interceptions, deep in Miami territory. On the first one he had great protection, so he held the ball and threw a pick in Reggie Brown's direction. He looked at him too long before throwing it. I don't know what happened on the second pick. It looked like McNabb expected Kevin Curtis to turn his route upfield but he never did. The errant pass wound up being an easy interception.
As for Feeley he threw an interception in the endzone which could have proven to be very costly. He also was sacked and stripped of the ball but the Birds were able to recover the fumble. A.J. recovered to throw a touchdown to Jason Avant and complete the passes necessary to move the football.
