Take A Close Look At Sam Bradford In Action

SamBradford22I would encourage all you Eagles fans to take a close look at new Birds quarterback Sam Bradford.  Check out this video which shows how he threw the football when he was in St. Louis. This video shows all the throws Bradford made over 15 yards in 2010 and 2011.

In these series of throws, Bradford does a great job of standing tall in the pocket and getting the ball to open receivers.  He does miss a couple throws, but you get the chance to see what he was dealing with in St. Louis.  He had a pathetic group of receivers and his offensive line was worse.  Check out the video for yourself on the right side of the GCobb.com website or check it out on Youtube.com.

You can clearly see why Chip Kelly was willing to ship Nick Foles out of town in order to get a special talent like Bradford.  His talent was wasted in St. Louis, but he’ll be in the ideal situation with Kelly.  Chip puts quarterbacks in a great position to succeed.

After viewing the tape, there’s no question in my opinion that this guy has all the talent in the world as a quarterback.  Still Bradford is going to need to get healthy and take as much time as he needs to do so.  The former Heisman Trophy winner must overcome the mental battles of standing in the pocket with people falling around his legs and despite that, still keep his attention downfield and deliver the football.  You can’t play the game in fear.

In addition, according to former Pro Bowl quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner, Bradford needs to regain confidence in his playing ability.  All of the Eagles receivers say he’s got a great arm and you can see it in the video, but Bradford must regain that swagger that great quarterbacks have.

He needs to be able to walk on the field with the confidence that he can make every throw he needs to make to win a game.  Bradford must regain that confidence that great quarterbacks have when the game is on the line and their team gets the ball back.  They take the field knowing that the game is in the bag.

This next video, which you can check out on the right side of this website, is of Bradford in his rookie year in a game against the New Orleans Saints.  Saints safety Roman Harper picked up a fumble at the goalline and was going to take it back all the way for a score, but Bradford decided against it.  Harper’s teammates were all over him after the play.

In 2010 the year everyone is reflecting back upon as “The real Sam” ,the Rams were playing in essence a 1 game playoff vs Seattle ..Sam vs back up charley white hurst folded like a cheap suit, losing 16-6.. SAMs stat line in a must win game to clinch a playoff spot ..19/36 0 T.D. 1 int…yeah and he was healthy.

All this harken back to when he was healthy stuff is nauseating. First off his results were not spectacular- he didn’t lift a team to any great heights or even mediocre heights.
I try to remain optimistic — i try to root for the team more than players and I don’t care if Chang Hi Shek or Stalin was our QB as long as they win…

I’m sure he”ll do better than Foles, especially if he can get gimme scores form the defense and special teams to help pad his win total.

I’ll take my chances with a higher pedigree in Bradford. Hell, Chip like Mark Sanchez better than bum ass Foles. Just be happy that Chip feels Bradford is a better fit for his offense already.

If he is, Chip’s days will be numbered. The guy is a dope as a GM. Worst mistake Lurie ever made was giving him the GM job. He will destroy this team before he flees back to college.

He is impatient in negotiations, over pays FAs and can’t draft for shit. I can’t say I see the offensive genius in this guy either. He is a good coach, but he is no more an offensive mastermind than Andy Reid from what I see so far. Let’s see him botch up this whole Evan Mathis thing. You DO NOT CUT HIM!!! That’s what he wants, Moron! Let him honor his contract or sit out one of his few remaining seasons not being paid. Then cut him after this year. He can play for the Eagles or he can spend his season running his friiging gym. But don’t let him play somewhere else. The cap doesn’t matter at this point. Cut him when the season ends and save the cap space next year. You’re not paying him anyway.

By the way, can we get some crazy fan to just murder Drew Rosenhaus. This dope has caused us so much angst and really cost this team for years now. Mathis is not getting more money. The reason the other top guards get more is they are younger. If the Eagles cut Mathis, he will make four million tops for another team. Probably ends up in New England.

Now gcobb himself hyping Bradford, once he fails, if and when he shows up, will be the end of Kelly, Bradford will also be gone and the eagles again will be looking for a coach and qb, the kelly gm decision will prove to put the eagles in worst shape before he was hired.

Kelly should have kept the pro bowl talent on offense that he inherited from Reid like Reid did withe defense he inherited from Rhodes instead he gutted the strength of the team

Thud will be a disaster

Fail like who? Foles?

Last I checked this team have one nothing so it’ll be hard to fail from what we’ve witnessed the last few years.

Foles couldn’t beat good defenses….period.

Now, if Bradford can’t beat bad defenses then we can talk but until then, let’s give our guy a shot.

Would anyone here Trade Sam Bradford and his $13 Million Contract back
to the St Louis Rams for QB Nick Foles and a 2016 2nd Round Draft Pick
(Which will be around the 50th Player Selected next Draft)
Jeff Fisher is still laughing his ass off on this heist…

Paul, I was in the Foles camp but have moved on. The salary means nothing the eagles do fine with the cap

Eagles could have used that $11.5 Million in Savings by keeping QB Foles over QB Bradford and added a Free-Agent Guard and Safety and kept their 2nd Round Pick for 2016 Draft .. I don’t care about the $$$ either, I just want a better Team…

I understand how it could be spent but you obviously care. My point is these teams seem to manage the cap easily …which FA guard? Which safety? Iupatti was gone…
At this point you have to believe that the coach thinks with his pedigree Bradford can run this offense better…obviously the proof will be in the pudding

I told you guys that Kelly would get rid of the BIg-3 (Vick,D-Jax & McCoy)
and most of you scoffed at the notion .. How could he ? They are perfect for his up-tempo style of Offense I was told… Kelly wants Winners on his Team..

Cigar loves drinking the kool-aid lmao paulman has a point is Bradford that much better than foles I don’t think so at all they could’ve saved a bunch a bunch and added more to the team with a guard or safety the money matters in that sense both qbs have injury history but one has had major injury history and they could’ve got thst guard from sf if they didn’t trade for Bradford….. and next yrs draft could’ve also looked better now that we got a extra 3rd Rd pick chip sucks as a gm but he better make it up as a coach.

I liked Guards Boling (Who ended up resigning with Bengals)
James Carpenter who signed with Jets
Orlando Franklin who left Denver & signed somewhere..

I had my writes up long ago before Free-Agency
Boling is 26 and signed a reasonable deal to remain
In Cincinnati, he was my #1 Target at Guard
#2 was James Carpenter, who played at Alabama under OL
Coach Jeff Stoutland a few years back and is obviously is familiar with his Techniques and can Play Guard or RT in a pinch

Evan Mathis will likely hold out even when the mandatory workouts cone in June and probably end up getting released
Other Teams know it also so at his Age, Salary and giving up
A mid to late Draft Pick, no Team is willing to do so
At this point..
Another point that Chip Kelly will likely emphasize over the Summer
“You don’t want to be here, then there’s the door”…
He’s not going to pussy foot around and waste a lot of time
On attempting to trade or appease a Player or Agent
When Camp Tine cones it’s going to be about Coaching & Football
For Chip Kelky and not GM Duties, he won’t have time for that

Hey Paul, I know you read reviews of guys and take the reports and say who you want. But to be honest you haven’t seen guard play in detail unless you spend hours upon hours on all 22…point is, you said you don’t care about salary…so don’t mention it.

I watch a lot of Pro Football, probably too much so..
I follow College Ball as well and enjoy following and checking Players out…
They are all Talented but certain Pkayers fit certain Schemes better based on previous Coaching, Schenes, etc..
Many Players can adjust and play well no matter what the Schemes
Other Players cannot, lots of variables ..

I once again call bullshit… I watch football… There may be two plays per game where a guard is focused… If that. And if you don’t what a team 16 games and focus on a position you don’t know shit… That is stupid… I watch MNF and a couple of Sunday games and can evaluaye
