Joe Banner says both Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb will return next year with the Birds. I hope he takes away Andy's player personnel decisions, but I do like the fact that he says he's not bowing to the idiots in town, who want to get rid of McNabb.
I give Joe a lot of credit for acknowledging the "silent majority" here in the city who have more class and fairness than the people who make all the noise. The following quotes from the interview are indicative of how supportive Joe was of McNabb.
“Theoretically, the coach doesn't know how to call plays, the wide receivers are no good, the quarterback is no good, and he has the highest winning percentage of almost any quarterback in his first seven years in the history of the league. Something has to be wrong there.
“Donovan is recovering from a very major [knee] injury. He's worked very hard at it, he's had some games he wishes had gone better, but you can't lose perspective over what we have here. …
“If anybody decided to bet against him being successful, I would bet that they'd be wrong.”
Banner said Brian Westbrook is happy with his contract. I know that's not true and I'm sure that Brian will let it be known that's he's not happy with his deal. Remember he went through quite an ordeal to get his contract.
