Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz has an inclination to follow the path of Brett Favre in his confidence in his arm and the abilities of his receivers. Those are great characteristics for a quarterback, but you can’t be so daring that you jeopardize turning the ball over. One of the most consistent factors that helps you win in the NFL is avoiding turnovers.
If the Birds turn the ball over against the Cowboys, the way they did against the Vikings, they will be doomed.
If you turn the ball over on a consistent basis, you lose in the NFL and there are no exceptions. It’s one of the reasons I would like to see Wentz utilize his tight ends much more and I would like to see that start in the game against the Cowboys.
I want to see him get Zach Ertz, Brent Celek and Trey Burton much more involved in the offense because it will allow them to control the football and keep away from the Dallas offense.
Wentz has struggled in the last couple of games because he’s looking downfield too much and depending on a group of mediocre wide receivers to get open. He cant do that against the Cowboys.
He should start looking for his tight ends more often, until the Birds improve their talent at the wide receiver position. The young quarterback is going to need to be more patient. He should favor taking what the defense gives him.
There have been numerous times in the last couple of games, where Ertz or Celek is open for a short gain, but Wentz is looking downfield for one of their average wide receivers to get open.
Many times the tight ends can be the safety valve or best friends of a young quarterback because getting the ball to them is much easier than completing passes downfield to the wide receivers. If you get the ball to them for four, five and six yard completions on first and second downs, it keeps you out of third and long situations.
Doug Pederson and Frank Reich have got to convince Wentz that this is the best direction for him to go with the team’s current personnel.
All sounds great….But,when you need help your right tackle by keeping max protection ,your assuming, vaitai ,can hold his water
The lane johnson dominoes are something that will continue to impugn the game plan..
Andy Reid is an idiot Alex Smith gets hit in the head on a play goes through concussion protocol luckily comes back fine. Then the moron runs the exact same play two more time when Smith comes back and gets him knocked out the game again.Thank god that fucken idiot is not in Philly no more. Oh yeah Chiefs are down to one running back poor roster management we all seen that before here in Philly.
How was he ever allowed back in the game in the first place. He couldn;t even stand up after the first hit. was stumbling around with a teammate holding him up…and one drive later he’s back??
But you know why people are leaving the NFL?
Did anyone just see Kelce’s last catch….wait…I mean inclomplete after review?
Both hands on the ball. One step, two steps, three steps and he starts falling (I think he’s diving for the pylon) reaching out with both hands and he drops it ob..
They say he has to control it throughout”going to the ground”. He was going to the ground after 3 steps. I mean how far does a guy have to go before its a catch/fumble? 15 yards??
Everyone in the universe knows its a catch except the NFL replay officials I guess.
They can’t keep insulting the fanbase with stupid rules, stupid London games, stupid Thursday games before they get upset.
I have no clue he clearly had a concussion all they said was he past the concussion protocol testing and they let him back in.
Oh yeah forgot Nick Foles is actually playing fairly well in Alex Smith’s place.
After watching multiple teams today it is unbelievable that the Eagles don’t have a receiver that can run fast and catch a deep football. lol. I’m watching 3rd, 4th and former PS receivers doing this.
The kid from Cal that runs a 4.31 forty activate him. He caught all the deep passes at Cal. You have the worst set of receivers in the NFL. The offense cant be rocket science. Give him a set of plays. They are on a record pace for least amount of deep passes in NFL history. Activate the kid and send him deep to open things up. Help Carson. He cant be worst than Aglohor.
I have a feeling we’re going to be screaming at the refs all night.
Booger’s crew has the most defensive flags against DBs so far this year….AND he lets the players be dicks.
So expect at least 3 or 4 very questionable PA calls (probably most against the Db wrestling with Dez) and do not be surprised if (as usual) Dez goes unpunished when he runs on the field without his helmet barking……nothing to see here……
Is it just me or is Phillip Rivers really really really god. Dude is a gamer.
