Can Eagles back up defensive tackles Beau Allen and Destiny Vaeao take the place of Benny Logan on the team’s defensive line? Will they be able to plug holes on run defense and put pressure on opposing quarterbacks when teams try to throw?
Unfortunately for the Eagles, they may get the chance to find out answers to those two questions in the upcoming season. According to the an article on NJ.com by Mark Eckel, the Washington Redskins are going to pursue Eagles defensive tackle Benny Logan in free agency, if the Birds don’t sign him to a deal before free agency begins.
I can tell you right now, that I expect him to become a free agent because the Eagles can’t afford to spend any more money on their defensive line. All Pro defensive tackle Fletcher Cox has a $100 million dollar plus deal. Defensive ends Vinny Curry and second team All-Pro Brandon Graham each have more than $30 million dollars deals.
Logan is a good player, but the Eagles can’t afford to pour more money into their defensive line. When Logan was sidelined with an injury early in the season, Allen and Vaeao stepped in and did a good job of playing the position. They both gave good signs that they can do the job if Logan isn’t around.
The Eagles must improve the wide receiver position and they’re also in desperate need of help at the cornerback spot. Therefore, I doubt they make a big offer to Logan. Hopefully for the Eagles and Logan, an AFC team outbids the Redskins for his services.

Schefter reports he should be ready for rookie minicamp, but he will not run at the Combine. It is a blow for a “small-school” prospect who passed up his opportunity to compete at the Senior Bowl. I agree Paulman. Kenny Stills is young and makes sense for the future. The Eagles will have some tough decisions to make when they pick at #14. So many directions they can go in. WR, RB, DB..I just hope they nail it this time. We CANNOT have another Nelson Agholor’s and Marcus Smith’s in this draft. WR Corey Davis would be very intriguing at that spot..
A Darkhorse Pick for the Eagle would be TE OJ Howard from Alabama, who is like a Jimmy Graham type, but can actually Block..He’s 6-6 250lbs and Can Run ,Catch & Block and would be a Match-Up Nightmare for Teams .. Put Him and Ertz out there a Stills to work the Deep Routes on the Outside and Jordan Matthews working in the Slot and the Eagles would have a pretty dynamic Receiving Corps.. OJ Howard has the makings of a 10 Year Pro-Bowler… I like Corey Davis too but I would go with OJ Howard ..
paulman, I was wondering if the Eagles would give consideration to drafting OJ Howard and go with a 2 tight end set. That would be dynamic as Howard has tremendous receiving skills and can get plenty of Yac. He and Ertz would be a helluva tandem for years to come. Great targets for Wentz.

Add Stills,Howard,Kupp along with Ertz, Jordan Matthews and you now have a legitimate NFL Reciver Corp to grow with Wentz
That’s actually not that bad of a plan paulman I would go cb and wr in rounds 1 and 2 because they are more of what the Eagles need not tight end.
Eagles need Playmakers to grow with Wentz which is GM Roseman’s biggest priority as his future is riding on a successful Offense which he has stated a few times this off-season.. they don’t have much Cap Space the next 2 Off-season s so the Yankees are going to have to get Offensive Weapons/Playmakers mostly in the Draft.. Roseman probably has 2-3 Years to make some real headway with this Franchise or he could be gone, and getting 1-2 Year Band-Aids at WR, CB or RB are not going to be part of his plan moving forward as he has also stated.. OJ Howard may be listed as a TE as Zac Ertz is, but he’s a Playmaker, NFL ready and probably a 10Year perennial Pro-Bowler…

It’s way too early to be making predictions on draft picks guys are moving up and down the board daily hell we haven’t even hit the combine. You do this every year with these draft predictions and it generally always blows up on your old ass. There’s no doubt Mac, that’s Lots of things can and will change between now and Draft Weekend come May… Teams will Release a Few Players, Re-do some contracts, Sign Free-Agents, let some of their FA walk, maybe a trade or two.. but I go back to what GM Roseman said himself publicly is that their $ his biggest Priority is to surround Wentz with Weapons that can grow together and become the future Core group to compete for a Championship rather than putting Band-aids on certain positions which means adding more players thru the Draft rather than signing High-Priced Free-Agents

This is the deepest corner and rbs draft in a very very long time. I know philly needs a corner. I know we need a rb. But those two positions can be Addressed in the second and third round.
Also do not forget about also signing a corner in FA. Apparently Trumain Johnson out of St. Louis apparently doesn’t fit what wade Phillips wants to do. And he could be joining his old teammate in Rodney McCleod. Maybe even AJ BOUYE from Houston.
With that being said and we add a corner in FA, and Wr Kenny stills/Desean and then draft a rb and corner in the second and 3rd.

In 2015 Eagles lost Lane Johnson for first 4 game and Jason Peters for last month.

With that being said it was not the defenses fault. It was the offenses fault. Not being able to stay on the field was terrible. They went 1-8 on third down. Matt Ryan took multiple sacks and held onto the ball too long and fumbled.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, “several league sources anticipate” the Eagles making a run at impending free agent Alshon Jeffery.
The Eagles desperately need an upgrade at wide receiver and Jeffery is easily the best wideout on the market. DeSean Jackson has also been linked to Philadelphia (where he played from 2008-13) while Torrey Smith could be an option if the 49ers make him available. The Eagles have a promising young quarterback in Carson Wentz. Now they just need to give him some weapons.

Mid/Late 1st Round Draft Prospect WR John Ross is scheduled to have Surgery after the Indy Combine to repair a Torn Labrum and will be out a few months until early Summer which will hurt his Draft Status, also coming from the PAC-10 Conference means missing a lot of thos early Spring OTA Camps until they complete their Semester in early June really putting him behind as Summer Camp begins… Ross is 5-11″ 190 and runs a 4.3 and compares a lot to D-Jax but he’s a little bigger and stronger than when D-Jax came out of Cal so it will be interesting to see where he goes which now may be in that early-mid 2nd Round to some Team….
Ross was projected to be that 3rd/4th WR off the Board after Mike William and Corey Davis who is also falling back due to recent Shoulder/Ankle Injuries causing him to miss Senior Week and Field Drills at the upcoming Indy Combine
