On The Mound
- Ben Lively turned in another strong start, going seven innings and giving up three runs on eight hits and two walks.
- Lively began the game by allowing a run in each of his first three frames, but settled down for four scoreless after that.
- Edubray Ramos took over in the eighth, and threw two scoreless innings.
- Jeanmar Gomez got the team through the 10th and 11th without allowing a run.
- Luis Garcia entered in the 12th, and gave up the winning run on two hits.

- The offense managed three runs on 12 hits.
- Two of the team’s runs came early in the game off of a two-run homer from Aaron Altherr.
- Michael Saunders drove in the third run with a groundout.
- Saunders served as the team’s DH, and went 0-3 with two walks.
- Odubel Herrera’s hitting streak ended, as he turned in an 0-5 effort.
- Daniel Nava played left again, and went 1-5 with a single and a walk.
- Howie Kendrick hit in the cleanup spot, and went 1-5 with a walk.
- Tommy Joseph went 2-5 with a double.
- Maikel Franco turned in a surprisingly productive night, going 4-5 with a double and a walk.
- Cameron Rupp caught the game and went 1-5 with a single.
- Freddy Galvis went 0-5 and left seven men on base.
Final Thoughts
Seven straight losses.
The Phils continue on a pretty bad losing streak, with their recent four-game streak a distant memory.
At the very least, Ben Lively continues to give the team something consistently positive to talk about. Since coming up from the minors, Lively has managed to go seven innings in three starts, achieving a level of success that the rest of the rotation just hasn’t had in the entire season.
