Now Sports Illustrated's Peter King is on board w ith me that Spygate, this whole Bill Belichick and Patriots videotaping scandal stinks . The fact that it seems like Matt Walsh has a video tape and Belichick and his Vice President of Player Personnel gave lawyered-up statements on Monday.
If they came clean afte telling lies I would let it go. He refused to clearly admit that he knew this was against the rules. He continues to lie and by saying he misinterpretted the rule. I guess that similar to the misremembering that was Roger Clemens says Andy Pettite did.
Why should somebody who has already showed that's he a cheater, have his word on something taken for granted. It should come down to the evidence and nothing else. It seems that they have now opened the door to saying that Matt Walsh videotaped the Rams walk thru on his own. That doesn't seem believeable.
Eventually somebody is going to have to give Walsh immunity because the attention being given to Spygate won't go away until we all find out what exactly he has. I'm shocked by the way this story is being covered.
I look at ProFootballTalk.com and I see them going after the credibility of Matt Walsh. Normally they only go after the public person and the not the whistleblower. If anybody accuses a player of misdeeds they side with the accuser but in Belichick's case they're giving him the benefit of the doubt. He hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt in this matter.
I think the statements which came out from the Patriots looks a lot like the guy who was smearing Will Smith in Enemy Of The State. It was a PR blitz by New England. I don't care about the pictures on ProFootballTalk.com or the things Belichick and Pioli said about Walsh. I want to see the videotape.
Somebody please give Matt Walsh immunity and Belichick might have to come clean , but you know he won't he'll continue to lie.
