A source close to Randy Moss, told me Randy wanted to wait until the end of the weekend to give the Patriots a chance to get together a good offer to keep him in New England. I think Tom Brady got involved in the situation and now the Patriots have stepped up their offer to Moss.
Randy let his circle know that he didn't want to reach out to any other top shelf quarterbacks and their teams. He wanted to give the Patriots some time.
I know Moss and his quarterback Tom Brady have been in touch with each other and I think it has something to do with the change of heart by the Patriots in their offer to Moss. You can understand that Brady has power in the New England organization and it looks like he has let it be known that he wants to keep Randy around.
Moss hasn't agreed to the deal as of yet, but he's leaning toward staying with the Pats.
Brady had been calling Moss after the Super Bowl cheering him up because he was really down after coming so close to getting his first Super Bowl title. Terrific has been encouraging Moss and telling him that they can take another shot at the title in 2008. It looks like they're very close to taking another shot at it together.
