Congress has a problem with Gene Upshaw and the way the NFLPA has failed to meet the health concerns of retired players.
The Washington Post talks about a congressional report which criticizes the NFL and its union for not attending to the needs of its retired players . This won't help Upshaw who has been battling an attempt by some of the union representatives led by Baltimore kicker Matt Stover.
According to the report the NFLPA doesn't have one full-time person in charge of taking care of the needs of the health concerns of retired players. This is something that just won't go away.
A number of congressmen have threatened to hold hearings about the situation.
