Chad Johnson says he's not going show up for the season unless the Bengals trade him. He would solve a lot of problems for the Eagles but he could also be a headache. .
Johnson reacted to comments made by Bengal quarterback Carson Palmer about Johnson definitely showing up for the training camp. The talented receiver made it clear that he wants Palmer to stay out of his interaction with the Bengals.
Johnson wants to be traded and has given Cincinatti an ultimatum to trade him or he'll shut his career down.
Cincinatti head coach Marvin Lewis has called Johnson's bluff and responded to his demands by saying the Bengals are not going to trade him whether he shows up for camp or he doesn't.
Personally I doubt that Chad will be able to hold to that promise for a long time. Johnson has been demanding to be traded for most of the off season.
There are a number of teams who are in pursuit of a top level wide receiver and the Philadelphia Eagles are chief among them. If I were the Birds I would get the Bengals on the phone and negotiate a deal for Johnson, but will the Eagles do it.
I will keep you posted.
