Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James played like a Super Hero last night and in the process made quite a statement to his critics last night with his performance against the Boston Celtics in a vital game in their best of seven playoff series.
The 21 point first quarter was the way Superman is supposed to perform with his team in jeopardy of falling behind in the series.
James who was recently awarded another MVP trophy this week, put the team on his back and played like the best player in the league.
He was aggressively attacking the Celtics defense and they had no answer for him.  James was also feeling it from outside last night, which makes him unstoppable.
He was dropping jumpers from every where on the floor or putting the ball on the floor and taking Boston defenders to the hoop.¬† It seemed that the basket was three times it’s normal size to him.
You didn’t hear anything about his injured elbow last night.¬† If it was hurting, he’s needs to make sure it’s hurting every night.
King James needs to lead to the Cavs to the top because the clock is ticking on him.  James needs to start winning NBA championships if he wants to prove to be a true Super Hero.
There have been a number of athletes in the modern era who have career achievements like the Super Heroes who have become such a major part of our culture.  First everybody knows that who Superman, Batman and Spiderman are and everybody knows they always come through when the chips are down.
I grew up watching those imaginary cartoon figures and learned to not get worked up when they and their friends were in danger.  You knew they were going to win in the end.  Likewise there have been athletes who have created the same aura about them.
Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Joe Montana, Kobe Bryant and Tom Brady are a few athletes who have lived up to Super Hero status.¬† James is trying to join the group but he’s got to win some championships and make the plays with everything on the line.
That performance last night was like Jordan in his prime with everything on the line.  I was glad to see it because I was starting to wonder about LeBron, after that mediocre game two he played earlier in the week.
He was throwing passes that made me scratch my head.  Last night he was decisive and focused.
It seems he’s got the Cavs back on track to meet the Lakers and their Super Hero, Kobe Bryant in the NBA Finals.¬† You know David Stern and the NBA front office are hoping that James proves to be the legitimate Super Hero because it will make for a great finals series.

they’re not making it to the finals… he’ll live up to “super hero” status when he does it in the finals and wins a championship (we should all be on board w/ that, because we held 5 to that standard.. in a sport w/ 22 starters).. but why does he even have to? we’ve called him “king james” and have been “witnesses” since before he stepped foot on an nba court.. he walks around w/ t-shirts that say “check my stats” and “LBJ/MVP”.. i seriously can’t stand that guy haha
