Report: Vick Suspended For Four Games

ESPN is reporting that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to allow Michael Vick to sign with a league team, but he will have to serve a four-game suspension prior to playing for that team.

SI.com is reporting that Goodell met with Vick in Allendale, New Jersey at a small security company on Wednesday afternoon.   It was rumored that they might meet in the near future but no one expected it to occur this soon.

Goodell had said on Tuesday that he would be making a decision on Vick's return to the NFL "sometime in the near future."

There were reports by a number of news outlets that both Goodell and Vick were seen leaving the New Jersey location via different exits.  There haven't been any comments from Goodell or Vick since the meeting.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello would neither confirm nor deny the meeting.  He made the following statement to SI.com.

"We've been consistent about that throughout this process.  We're not responding to any of the questions surrounding the review. Once a decision is made by the commissioner, then we'll make a statement.'"

More information about their meeting has come out and we've learned that they met for nearly three hours.  They discussed his reinstatement and it was agreed upon that the agreement would be conditional.

If Vick stays out of trouble and conducts himself in a manner which Goodell considers appropiate, he will be able to return to the NFL after the season's first four games.

In another report, Vick met one-on-one with the new Executive Director of the NFL Players Association, DeMaurice Smith.
