LeBron James Took The Easy Road Rather Than The Challenge

I was disappointed that LeBron James decided on playing with the Miami Heat.¬† Going to the Heat is telling us that he didn’t think he could win a title without having two superstars, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh by his side.¬† He took the easy road rather than taking the challenge.

He didn’t stay in Cleveland, pair with Amare Stoudemire in New York, go to Chicago with Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer and Joaquin Noah, and win a championship.

I don’t think there’s any guarantee that the combination of James, Wade and Bosh are going to dominate the NBA.¬† I could see them winning a few titles if Pat Riley does a great job of surrounding them with quality talent, but that won’t be easy. Yes there’s no question that they will have little trouble making the playoffs but everything comes down to what they do in the playoffs.

Will they be able to lock down opponents with their defense?  Their success or failure will be decided by how they do on the defensive end of the floor.

They don’t have a dominate big man, so that will make them vulnerable to a team with a good post-up game.¬† You can take away Bosh on the low-post with a strong physical forward who refuses to let him set up in there.¬† I could see Boston’s Kevin Garnett doing that.

There’s no question that they’ll be difficult to deal with because they can make you pay for double-teaming either James or Wade, but I would dare both of them to beat me with their outside shots.¬† I would back off of James and Wade in order to stop their drives to the hoop.

very very shocking
i thought he would stay didnt see how he could leave his hometown
but in hindsight he said something that was very true last night he said eventually cle would get rid of me so in light of all that we have been thru here in philadelphia especially with the birds im am kind of glad to see a player sort of cut the organiztion before the organization cuts you.

G, I don’t think the desire to win titles is predicated on “being challenged.” If that’s the case, then I guess Kobe should leave the Lakers and go to a terrible team to make it harder and more challenging to win a championship. I think you have to tip your hat to Lebron because he put his money where his mouth is by going to a team for less money with hopes of winning a title. So many guys have said it’s all about winning only to stay with a crappy team to get that big pay day.

I think it gets down to playing with his buddies and on a good team that can win for a while..
Wade,Bosh and Lebon are all close and have a great time playing with each other from the last Olympic games. I do believe this was in the works for while..
I do believe that no Championship is guaranteed as the East Conference has improved quite a bit..
The Bulls ,Celtics will be tough, Hawks return basically the same talented team as does Orlando
It will be interesting to see what the Cavs do now.. especially since their Owner was very negative about LeBron with his comments last evening .. (I say to myself, if Cavs owner thought LeBron quit on the Cavs team in the playoffs last year, why would you pay him $20 million to retain him…why be so upset if he is moving on.. What a turkey he is, and looking back at his comments, why would
LeBron even want to play for a jerk like that..)

Wait so because he choose the option that gave him a better shot (at least in his opinion) to win multiple championships instead of feeding his ego and saying ‘I’m the man on this team and its all about me that we won the championship’ you’re complaining? Winning the championship is everything unless you have the share the glory? Is that what you’re suggesting?

i wondered the same thing as u pman. i wont like i actuallay agreed with some of his rant. i thought it was narcisstic. i do think he has been spoiled an babied throughout his career. i alos though it was classless to cle to on natl tv to do this. bu pman ur right if you are saying a guy quit in the playofs y the hell do u want that player back. and if u do want him back shows u dont care about winning u just want the revenue he brings in for u. btc i agree with u 2 when kobe was challeneged they lost 1st round twice he led the league in scoring and got bounced 1st round twice. when he had 5 all stars on that team with shaq they won. and same with the last 2 chips he clearly had the best team in the league i mean to me wo kobe they still may make the finals

Personally, i think lebron james is quite possible the biggest judas in sports. Think of it this way. How many players ever get drafted by their home town teams? How many players have an owner that will bend over backwards to surround that player with enough talent to be the #1 seed in the east? Last how many players are offered the max contract and if the owner could offer more he would? Think about it how would us in philly handle this? TO left on a contract dispute, Cliff Lee left because he was traded, Dawk left cause he was old and the broncos offer 2x more then the eagle, mcnabb was traded, reggie white left cuz braiman would not pay him. Lebron is a player who left the cavs solely because he wanted to win a championship the easy way. he could have went to the knicks , the bulls, or stayed with the cavs and gotten a chance at a championship. He left cuz he wanted to play with his friends in a mainstream environment. All i have to say is karma is a real B and i wouldn’t be shocked if he still doesn’t win a championship.

Smartest move Lebron James could have made. Basically the dude wants to win championship(S). If they win four to seven championships there with that group before all is said and done and are labeled the best basketball club to play the game EVER it’ll be more clear for those that question the man’s decision now(?). Certainly, he could toil away and watch Kobe Bryant win another championship or two waiting for nice mixture of players around him in some other place, but he’s done that for seven years already.

To me the decision looks like it should have been simple and based on his final decision it probably was. He just wanted to be courteous to all of the teams that had gone to such great effort to court him and I applaud James for that. From my standpoint he either should have stayed in Cleveland where he had a good team around him, or go to Miami where he had two All-Stars that he happened to be friends with and knew he could play with. Going to Miami dramatically increases the likelihood of him capturing that which has eluded him for seven years and it’s a once in a career type situation. Any other choice would have been idiotic.

My major complaint about all of this is that the Comcast/Sixers organization was not remotely involved in any free agent acquisitions this year, which is a record year for the availability of marquee players. It’s almost as if the Sixers had a winning formula that they didn’t want to disrupt. (LOL) The Comcast corporation has virtually unlimited financial reach and purchased the team, ideally to be able to reposition the franchise in years like this where money to acquire the best players could pose a problem for most independent owners, so it makes no sense to me that they sat on the outside of the auditorium with a camouflage prom gown.

The heat get these great players James ,Bosh and resign Wade , and the phillies can’t even keep that one great player Lee , give me a friggin break Amaro , and what prospects did you get ,huh !! it don’t give us that B.S. that it was about replenishing thev farm system for the future because everybody knows it was about the friggin money ,you guys are just too cheap . and I guess you think if you do make the playoffs ,which i doubt that is going to happen this year , even if you do make it to the World Series ,I guess you think you are going to beat the Yankees with Lee too, what a bunch of idiots in that phillies front office !!!
