Tracy Porter Says He Knew The Route To Expect

Porter picks off pass Tracy Porter says film study was the key to his preperation and the reason he was ready to make the play that won the Saints the Super Bowl.

With 3:24 left to go on the clock, the Colts were in a 3rd and five situation in New Orleans’ territory. The Saints called a blitz and Peyton Manning and the Colts were ready for it.

Porter knew what to expect and detected something by the way Indianapolis lined up, which told him what play they were going to run.

“We knew that on third and short they stack, and they like the outside release for the slant.  It was great film study by me, a great jump and a great play,” Porter said.

Porter jumped a slant route by Reggie Wayne and grabbed the Manning pass and took it back 74 yards for a touchdown.

After it was all over Porter said, “”Words can’t describe how much this means for New Orleans.”
